RW cube questions for the pros.

Have a few questions on rock wool cubes. I'm starting up a grow in soil, I plan on starting 5 seeds indoors and veg them until the last frost of the season and place them outside for flower.

1) Is there any beneficial properties that will help the seeds?
2) Would it be just as good to germ. the beans in paper towels and then place into the soil? Or is it better to germ. them in the cubes, and then place in the soil.

THANK YOU & HAPPY GROWS!!

RW does'nt work well with soil, just germ with some pellets"jiffy cube or pots" then u can just trans-plant those in ur soil. better than RW,

I have tried every method from my hydro shop, damn paper towel is the best so far. I did however just change from oasis cubes to RW cubes for plant starters. I use hydroton for pots. I do like the rw better, cleaner, holds water better.

I have always used rockwool with 100% success rates with seeds and clones alike. You want guaranteed seed germ with no chance of screw up. Here it is:

Soak your seeds in a glass of water (float or sink, doesn't matter) for 24 hours (either plain water or 300ppm nutrients). Soak rockwool for about the same amount of time in ph 5.5 plain water or 300ppm water doesn't really matter (I prefer light nutes). Then, put the seeds in the rockwool hole (or make one) and cover it with a pinch of rockwool. 1-3 days later, your seeds will be poppin out looking for some light!

I have NEVER had a seed fail me yet. Literally 100% success rates. The problem with using paper towel is that you have to handle the seed after it sprouts, which can damage it. If you put the seed in the rockwool before it pops, you don't have to handle it at all.

Also, there is NO PROBLEM using a small rockwool cube in soil, your plant will not know the difference. I can assure you. The cube is only about 1-2 inches and your roots grow out in no time. I can assure you that rockwool + soil will have NO issues whatsoever.
