Rust spots

Hey everyone, i have two plants in flower and one of them are showing rust or orange spots on the leaves. My two questions are: can i still smoke this plant or is it too late? And is there anything i can do to fix this at this stage? I thought it was calcium so i added bonemeal. Its been 3 days and there has been no improvement. Im thinking of adding more soil because i believe the plant is experiencing root lock, but if anyone could give me some tips.

Bonemeal takes a long ass time to work.

I would look for a liquid Calmag you can add to water.

pH is also a factor as is the medium.

You might not be Calmag defecient but it could be locked out.

I am using fox farm happy frog mix and have been utilizing bone and blood meal along with lemon juice concentrate with water. I don’t have litmus yet, as i just ordered them today (should have gotten them a while ago), but i really think it might just be pH. I tried using an analog soil tester but as a chemist, i knew that it was trash.

The way I understand HF, it's the starter soil and you upgrade to a heavier feed soil (Ocean Forest) after the first transplant.

Soil testing is blah, everyone knows it's the trash way to check pH so good on you for knowing that.

For next time, washed and baked eggshells ground into a fine powder gives a good chunk of Calcium.

It sounds like you want to keep organic but I would recommend deviating from organics and dive into that chemistry degree of yours and whipping up a total nutrient solution for a few weeks.

Make your skills work for you.

Bonemeal takes ages to work as others said. I would add some CalMag+ supplement such as Botanicare brand (my favorite) 3 ml/gal is what I do when feeding with Reverse Osmosis (distilled) water. Shoot for 6 PH on the final feeding solution.

Update: i did the botanicare with 4 ml/gal until runoff with DI water. Without the litmus, i wont know pH, but they should be here by thurdsay.

Honestly PH doesn't really matter much with Botanicare CalMag+ from my experience. I've used literally 4 gallons of it in the last couple years. I never ph the water I add it to. It comes out the RO tank around maybe 15 PPM 6.2 PH and is around 5.6-6 when I test.

You should see an improvement within 48 hours. Just remember those rusty spots are there to stay as they won't heal but the new growth should be fresher and the leaves shouldn't deteriorate any further. I think you've just got hungry plant(s) on your hands.

Glad to hear it was probably just hungry for CalMag.

Always feed plants plain water for 14 days prior to harvesting whenever possible. If you're feeding nutrients you don't want the plant to have excess nutrient inside of it, makes it harsher, less smooth and burn dirtier.
