Sorry about that. I didn't want to completely hijack that other thread. LOL

I love Navajo artistry. Especially the folk art. I do, however, absolutely hate Kachinas. We have butt loads of those too. All over the house. Just waiting. Plotting. Scheming. Planning my demise.

I hope this isn't disrespectful...My momma made these clothespin kachinas...

...While the trained slugs were carrying the images through my awesomely slow uplink (one bit at a time), I looked at mine for the Flaw but could not find. Enough use blemishes have been added that the spirits can move in&out as through a colonnade by now! cn
I'm going to go out on a limb and say it is an authentic Two Grey Hills. I sent an email to my uncle for confirmation and my cousin who owns a trading company in Farmington. Poor thing, it looks like it has sun damage. The vegetable dyes are fading but you can still see the beautiful design. :(

Lots and lots of patience. :)
its beautiful. in elementary school, we wove blankets on this huge loom.... they are more mexican looking than that, but yeah, seeing those blankets makes me miss nevada. lol the whole southwestern thing. im just curious, how does it work on a loom like that? because the patterns and everything look hard to make on that. I made a mini doll blanket on a hand loom, only patterns i could make were varying lines.
this makes me wanna start weaving again!

I have an old book called back to basics, by readers digest. It shows you how to make fleece into yarn, how to make dyes, which plants make what colors, how to use a loom and make patterns. I think it even showed you how to make the loom if I remember correctly, it even had sections on how to make your own house out of adobe, logs, etc.

The book has everything, even a section on making you own energy, via wind, solar, or things like producing your own biodiesel, methane and ethanol.

I breathlessly await his assessment, and anything else you can say about it. cn

i like the first one the most, i'm not sure why. it's not visually familiar, but something about it evokes smell memories from my childhood and makes me feel good.
Yes, they're all very charming but I didn't see any works of art
