Any input on how to make a rubbermade grow room? Im currently using a kitchen cabinet and CFLs but Id like to convert to the good old rubbermade. Any suggestions on how to cut holes and mount a 6 socket surge protector to the top or sides? Also how do i go about getting computer fans. Im not very electrical at all so a simple as can be setup would be appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

hey monkeeman - thanks for the help but the set up i had in mind was a bit different. I am currently using a 6 plug power strip with 3 cfls plugged in using 3 light socket adapters. Any thoughts on how I could mount the power strip to the side of the rubbermaid container? Also any suggestions on how to cut the appropriate holes in the rubbermaid? Special tool? or just a sharp knife? Thanks again for your help and BTW would you happen to be a Monkees fan?:peace:

hey sami, use your imagination =D

check this out... If i understand your setup correctly....but again this really depends what you do

Get a knife, maybe heat it up a little bit with a lighter, then glide and cut through..
With your setup i have a few ideas.... But i think you are best off with 3-light-fixture...
Anyways for yoursetup:
-cut 3 holes just big enough for the lights to make it through
-put the power stript over the outside, so the cfls go through
-Duct tape the power stript on there... Duct tape should do the trick
-(cut out any other areas for the power stript that u need)

and do that to both sides, so you have 6 lights on there.

Then cut a circle on top for a 120mm fan(u can use a CD to trace it, same size =D) put a fan on top, which u can screw in easy.

You then add a intake, or a couple intakes on the bottom tub.

Btw, mylar the whole inside up....
.
you can add a cheap 10 doller carbon filter for smell too....
Get some chicken wire, make it so it fits over the fan...
Make a few bags full of activated carbon... duct tape them to the inside of the chicken wire... and BAM!

you are all set!

leme know if any questions
