This is a grow design I set up for one of my friends. I've read about every forum I could on stealth grows and this is what I compiled. I'm just looking for some suggestions to make it better/ more stealthy.
Random shit
a. White Spray paint, Black satin spray paint, Duct tape, Hot glue gun, (2) 45 gallons Rubbermaid totes, (4) Small plastic hooks, An assortment of bolts, nuts, and washers, (2) Packs of 45 shoes strings, Empty spray bottle, Two curved 2 pipe fittings
II. Lighting
a. CFL Bulbs
i. (#?) 6000k = 12,000 lumens
ii. (#?) 2700K = 8,000 lumens
b. Leviton socket adapters
c. Leviton lamp holder two socket adapters
d. Electrical, (2) outlet strips,Electrical tape, (2) pc fans 80 mm, 2 old cell phone chargers, Analog timer
III. Soil & Nutrients
a. (1 per plant) Jiffy pellet, (1 per plant) 5 Gallon pots, Fox Farm potting soil, Bloom enhancer (preferably 10-50-10)
IV. Carbon Filter
a. (2) Small Tupperware containers that fit over the large fans, Panty hose, Activated Carbon, ONA Gel (Odor Neutralizing Agent)
1. . Spray paint the outside of the small Tupperware containers white and the insides black
2. Spray paint the inside of the curved pipe fittings black the outsides should remain white
3. Start with two tubs
4. Cut the bottom out of one tub in a rectangular pattern (leave about 1-1.5 on each edge to maintain sturdiness
5. Place hollowed out container on the center of the other and mark the inside of the lid where you will cut the covering of the bottom tote.
6. Remove and cut
7. Place together and use the hot glue gun to glue the lid and the hollowed out container together
8. Carefully duct tape the lid and hollowed out container together from the inside cuttings
9. Spray paint the inside of the containers with a coat or two of white paint
10. Take one of the 12v cell phone chargers and strip the end of the wires with some wire cutters
11. Do the same with the cords to the pc fan and connect them (Make sure the correct wires are connected by plugging in the charger)
12. Once you have it connected correctly use electrical tape to rap the wires together
13. Near the top of the highest box on the side, cut two holes on each side that will snuggly fit your large pc fans (The wires should be inside the grow box)
14. Use hot glue to seal of the edges (Make sure the fan is blowing out before you glue it in)
15. On the same side, using a hole-saw cut about a 2 hole at the top of the grow box about 3 to the side of the fan and about 5 below the top of the container (This will be where you run the wires from the fans and the lights)
16. Do the same on the bottom of the container
17. Hot glue the 2 pipe curving on the inside of the 2 holes
18. Attach 2 of the hooks to the top lid to hang the lights on
19. Get one of the outlet strips and plug in and hot glue the socket adapters into the outlets (Dont get the glue in the actual outlet!!!)
20. Take the two socket adapters and screw them in, then screw in the light bulbs alternating between the two types
21. Slip the shoe laces through the holes in the side of the outlet strip and tie them, then slip the laces over the hooks at the desired initial height (8 above the top of the plants)
22. Take your small Tupperware container and cut out the middle of the lid, leaving just enough room for the fan to fit
23. Glue the lid to the container around the fan
24. Cut a rectangular hole in the Tupperware container on the side that would be pointing down (about 2X1.5)
25. Take some of the panty hose and make two balls with the activated carbon on the inside with the panty hose used to contain them. Use half of the carbon in one and half in the other one. Make sure you double or triple up the layers of panty hose
26. Put the panty hose with carbon in the Tupperware container and fit it onto the lid that is glued on the wall (Be sure that the panty hose and carbon arent touching the pc fans, you might want to put some chicken wire or something in there to prevent any problems
27. Thats it on the set-up just plug in the timer and set it to 18 hours on and 6 off, but leave the fans running constantly
