royal dutch genetics.. this is for u

Ok. So anyone that knows me knows i dont buy seeds. Its stupid... if ur not in a med state and the prices were cut down to cost plus a small profit id say order them. But they charge too damn much for something that should be free in every sense of the word. Anyway... I say this to clarify the impression made on me this morning. A friend orderes a couple packs of strawberry kush from royal dutch genetics... Whom i have never even heard of.. Damn i was missin out. Now i hate fem seeds for my own reasons.. But i needed plants and he had s.k. Clones. So i took them home and all but ignored them through veg and when big enough threw them in the next tent to do work... Still expecting hermies and bullshit... Words cant describe how wrong i was... Which. is inconvinient if ur writing a review but a memorable moment none the less. Btw i know i suck at these. Sorry.

In 3 weeks they looked promising. Amazing trich production almost out of the gate with eventual hand sized leaves forming resin glands along the blade serrations to the tip... Ok.. Maybe i got something good at least hash wise... Week 5. Shes heavy... Rosie odonnel mid 90s heavy. The smell is as well. At this point im in fear of even opening doors or windows. 3 seperate occasions there has been a knock at the door Neighbors as far as the fourth house requesting me to re invest in carbon and one call to the landlord... She knows thank god... My clothes in the closet opposite the grow room smell of heaven and skunk.. The smell came to literally be a problem.. Ozone generators should come with these fkin seeds cause thats what it took to keep neighbors off my case lol. Week 9... She has fallen over. Two branches essentially have harvested themselves via weight. The resin production is STILL in overdrive. i cut the first two plants and leave the third... I wanna see how stable she is... How long she can go and when will she hermie. Meanwhile the rest drys and cures.

Week ten... She has began to display the virgins tears.. Ive only seen it once myself but it takes on a glossed appearance below the calyxes creating a visual effect that appears to be resin pouring from the calyxes. That mixed with the smell im already stoked.. FF a bit. First bowl. The jar opens and i am overwhelmed by a smell so familiar u melt with joy.. Hash..wait. Sandalwood? Berries? Skunk? Organic soil? This is the most complex smell ive encountered concerning any cannabis. So many initial tones. So unique and clear. Palpable? So individual yet so meant to be together. Smooth? Is a frogs ass water tight? And the undertones? If ur into psychadelics avoid this strain. There are so many U may find the meaning of life within its undertones.. The buds resemble classic kush with blue cheese like formation of the calyxes. They are chunky and dense with each floral cluster easily distinguishable within kinda that towersbuilt on a tower look. The buds are some of the stickiest ive ever seen..

Keep a razor and alcohol swabs handy during harvest. Seriously. They were switched at 18 inches and yielded about 1 1/2 oz avg. each. under 2 600w hps. Not the best yeilder but im sure if it werent neglected it would do much better. She was fed very light as a result and never showed a deficiency. However the ones in veg now are gettin hit hard with nutes and loving it so its a very forgiving easy strain good for beginners but seems versatile enough to fit into a multi strain grow and co exist wihout special feeding. To say the quality is top shelf would be a slap in the face.. There is no shelf up where this belongs. So i applaud you royal dutch for you have shown a fool some light at the end of this feminized tunnel.. Not since my man subcool released jillybean have i nearly wept to the essence of a nug. And its so potent it holds a presence of a malnurished timid dog. Youre almost afraid to turn your back on it. It starts with a very subtle yet distinct.. Duhh.. Feeling. At 9 weeks its a very nice buzz. Im relaxed but not stoned. I am pain free as possible. So about a 6 lol. I find myself talking to strangers on the bus. Even throwing a lady having a bad day a nug on the bus...

Sidenote. U ever want to change someones mood like right now give them a bud of strawberry kush. Theyll about molest you with thanks.

4 hours in the effects are clear still however its shifted gears. The fridge...wtf happened to the fridge omg.. And why did i wake up soaked cuddling the bong with fruity pebbles stuck all over me. First thought is cereal killer..seriously i lold pretty hard at myself. At 13 1/2 weeks the smoke is still great. The flavor is same but much brighter. 30 minutes later i txt. "Were all wired into a survival trip now" to a friend and fall asleep. If u want a sedative this is it. Felt great tasted great but obviously the high wasnt so pronounced i assume this to be due to the length it went causing a bit more degredation of thc but a fun ass night time smoke either way. So in not so short. if u dont have this strain...RUN and get it. This is from the man who hates seedbanks.. Buy them u wont regret it..

Oh to those wondering the last one made it 13.5 wks before male flowers began forming but plateau'ed around week 11 1/2. Ill post nug pics in a bit and i may have a few of her in flower.. But like i said i had low expectations so they were virtually ignored.

Ha. You know, paragraph breaks are helpful things. Massive blocks of writing are intimidating to the internet generation, no matter how many elipses (...) you add.

Why do you think seeds should be cheaper? If anything, they're too cheap. I don't think you have a clue as to the amount of time and the number of plants it takes to isolate and stabilize those desirable characteristics that you're raving about it your post.

I am not going to complain about the price of most seeds. some of the breeders like "The Doggie's Nutz" I feel are overpriced when compared to their compatition. When you compare their genetics to breeders like TGA, DJ Short, Barney's Farm, Big Buddha, Soma, and a bunch of other well known, trusted breeders, I just don't feel like TDN genetics are worth the extra $ they want for them. Aside from this type of situation, I feel like most breeders charge a fairly resasoable price. Yea they are just seeds but we love to grow them and smoke them, and it takes time and money to provide us all with the strains we love so it seems silly to expect the breeders to do it for free. If he doesn't like the price of seeds... you get free seeds in shitty weed and he can breed his own strains....

I guess there are a few companies out there that charge $300+ for beans but given the ability to clone, that $300 purchase could be the only one you need to make for the rest of your life. Seeds in the $100-$200 range are kinda of 'expensive' but a lot of times when buying from reputable breeders (and I wouldn't consider doggie balls reputable), you get your money's worth in strain stability and overall quality.

I agree... There are many reputable breeders that offer seeds from $40 to $100 and others that do charge a little more, but like you said with the ability to clone or pollinate your own buds to make your own seeds should pay for the purchase in time. I do however think that once you start charging $200+ for 10 seeds, you are kind of ripping people off. I do realize there are costs in breeding but if you charge big $$$ for your seeds, you won't sell many. I personally usually lookk for seeds in the $50- $150 range. Yea its a lot to pay for a couple little seeds but if i do my part right, then it will be worth it.

I almost have to laugh when a guy thinks $50 is too much to pay for 5 fem seeds that if grown correctly should yeild close to 10 to 15 oz of good quality bud... and if you clone you could end up with lbs of top shelf buds, but the same guy would probably think nothing of spending $50 on an 8th or 4th oz of bud.

Im well aware of what goes into it and the profit they make. It sickens me. But i wont get into it and debate about it. You have your opinion i have mine. I wont support a seed bank. Not even subcool and hes about the coolest guy ull ever meet.

I'm not looking for a debate, i'm just curious as to what sickens you about it? They take massive risks and put years of experience and effort into creating something special and without their efforts, you'd be growing Mexican schwag right now. Are you not recovering costs off of your patients? Is the dispensary screwing you on the price they're willing to offer for your goods? Just wondering where this animosity is coming from.

Hey, i might have come off like a little bit of an opinionated ass before... didn't mean to do that. I guess i just wanted to make the point that I am just happy to have so many choices at my finger tips on line, and I feel that $50, $100, or even a little more is a small price to pay to have access to just about every strain available in seed form. Yeah i know it seems like a lot to pay for a few little seeds when you compare it tto the price of tomato seeds or lots of other seeds, but you really can't look at it like that or you will never get past the cost of the seeds.

Or... People should start veiwing them and treating them as such. I mean a potatoe is much more likely to kill u yet u can buy them by the pound at ur local store. People need to start seeing it for what it is rather than what it can generate. Other side of the coin argument i suppose

Hey guys, hey sensisensai :)

Man, I can say only one thing, on behalf of everyone here at Royal Dutch Genetics: thank you for this feedback

You review's put a morning smile on my face, it's a real pleasure to read that people are satisfied with our strains. I work at RDG and we're always looking forward to user's feedback about our genetics. Our breeder has been working for years on his genetics and knowing that gardeners like his strains is a true satisfaction for him.

I understand the whole debate on the seeds and their price, I myself am a seed gardener, and I wish you guys could see my house and my car, you'd be deceived! There are big businesses out there but RDG's slightly different, we want to offer peeps some quality beans at affordable prices... and trust me, we don't have the growing capacity of some of our competitors!

Let's put it this way: we're artisans when others are worldwide corporations!

Thanks a lot for your post Sensai, it's touching
