i actually ordered Trainwreck, Bubba Kush, and Blue Mystic...most likely gonna grow out the bubba first...but very interested in the trainwreck. Ive heard good things about it

Hey Doeyed, Nice plants you have going. They are looking beautiful! I have some greenhouse trainwrecks on the way as well. Ive heard mixxed things about them,so I am hoping for the best.

Thanks! Yeah I've heard different things too, like that the smoke is killer, but yields not so good. Hope she's tasty enough to make up for it!

I used MG nutes and soil for my first grow and my herb tastes kinda funky still gets you hella high but man it just doesnt have that classic taste/smell. It has a chemical burn and I flushed it like crazy for two weeks...I also let it dry/cure properly which I think helped when compared to a non cured bud which tasted like pure chemical lol...So not sure if it was the MG but I have the same strain this time around with a good soil mix and technaflora nutes, curious to see how it tastes
What was wrong with yours when you used MG?

Day 7 Flower:
The girls have been flowering for a week today. First day didn't count, as I forgot to reset my timer, and they got blasted with 18 hours of HPS - some slight heat stress from that. Otherwise they are doing well.
Layla, my Moby Dick, has more than caught the Train Wreck girls for height, now. For some reason, the plants on the right are growing faster, than the lefthand ones. Newer lamp make that much of a difference? Or because they are closer to the air intake?
All the girls have hairs sprouted, so they are for sure female. Got their first dose of Jack's Classic Blossom Booster - no adverse effects so far! Nice growth spurt after using. The PH is up a little, I'm going to adjust it next watering. All in all, nothing to complain about this week.

I saw you post you heard trainwreck was killer weed but a low yielder.
My opinion on that is I agree the buds grow differnetly, more calyaxes and all but there size is not like a WW terminal cola. However they make up for it with more buds. Ya just have to get light to them.
I would think UBs method of pruning will bring down the over all height of each plant. By how much, I dont know, did he mention that? My guess would be like 25%

Nope he never said, or if he did at a later date, I didn't see it. The four colas though are getting pretty tall anyway - the tallest is a little over two feet right now. Last two grows weren't topped (failed FIM attempts) and they only reached 3 1/2 feet total. When do they stop stretching?

yeah but they shouldnt stretch makes you lose yield. make sure your lights are as close as they can be.. for no streching ...So they don't gain any additional height when put into flower, huh?Let me put it another way. When do they stop growing taller?
+ if you veg'd them for a few weeks they shouldnt realy stretch at all.. they should start producing flowers where the branches are.. and thats it.. the colla will grow big.. so remember ... it will grow around 10-20cms more.
* edit * if they do stretch out of hand like my haze did.... cuz i didnt veg them at all... then you can lst them.... wich provides a great balance to your yields....

I vegged to 16" and flipped to 12/12
Durring the next 2 weeks they grew/stretched to about 24"
Then finished at about 36" with a bit of training.
Usually my plants will stretch about eight or nine inches then bud another eight or nine but this seemed to grow a bit more.
It could have been because of aeroponics I dont know.
I would say figure about 3 times the size as it was when you went to 12/12 and you should be ok.

By stretching, I don't mean stretched as in lights too far away, I was talking about that burst of height that happens when they first go into flowering. They were vegged eight weeks. Ok, thanks. Not too worried about space, since there are eight foot ceilings in there, but I don't want the lights so high that only the colas are getting it, either.
The first two weeks of flower, that burst of growth is referred to as stretching too.
Make sense now?

Well, I have to say - this is shaping up to be my best grow yet. I'm very pleased with the bud growth for only being in flower for two weeks. They look pretty good, and smell great. I am definately satisfied with the Jack's Classic Blossom Booster - also still giving my veg nute at quarter strength. They are getting fed, including molassas, every other watering.
