roots r growing out of pot & into the ground but i need to move it. please help

i have a few plants in 3gal buckets and the roots have grown through the drain holes and into the ground. I need to move the girls to another location. how much shock would be caused if i cut the roots off then transplanted into bigger pots and moved it.

maybe enough to stunt growth for a week. it wont kill your plants.
 
Yeah like Toke said.. it may stunt them.. but that doesn't mean it will. Just cut the roots off at the pot and transplant it. :)

Just like smokey said..Maybe even buy yourself some Terra Rhizotonic, great for what your gonna do, helps stop the shock and more....good luck
 
thanx for all the reposnces, i just transplanted 1 of them, and the root system is really into the ground i had to cut off alot of roots. i might see how this one goes before i do the others. i always got rizzo handy its canna's best additive
