Im not sure what to do here but i have about 10 inches of root growing down into my drains and blocking them.

The plants are in 10g rubbermaids in a flood and drain setup about 3 weeks into veg.

can i trim the roots without hurting the plants?

Tie them a little? Be creative

Did what I had to do...

Pulled out the offending bastards and hoping for the best. The plants are super healthy and should be just fine.

To be honest I panicked a little...

I recognize that the roots only went in the drain to search for water.
So Im working on getting the sag outta my lines (no sag = no standing water in drain)and I shouldnt have this problem again

well dont flower them in that same container, it is ok now in early veg but in flowering, you will be like chopping a bud and throwing it in the bin, the more the roots, the bigger the yield...

Thanks for your input zem but its my understanding a 10gal tub should be plenty of root space and I just dont have the height for a larger tub.
Ill just eliminate the standing water in the drain and trim as neccessary.

Your good to veg and bloom in a 10 gal. Plus triming roots is ok just handle like you would removing leaves
little at a time :) keep it green bigfoot
