My grow tent is too cold, in particular worrying about the roots. How do I warm it up that doesn't cost a crap?

I do the hps with fans turned way down route. It's not great, those oil heaters look like the way to go. Do they have built in temp sensors to kick on at say 60 degrees or so?
I elevate my containers off the floor and turn down fans to just barely exchange air. It's definitely warmer in the tent that the surrounding air/room. They are kinda stunted and behind where they should be as it still gets colder than it should during lights out, and also runs the risk of there being a warm period and forgetting to turn the fans back up and cooking them.

Yes, they have temperature control, but not by degrees, just a graded dial rheostat. You will need to 'calibrate' with a thermometer to find your ideal setting.
I saw this earlier today in another thread. Looks great and super slim for tight spaces.

125w tubular greenhouse heaters work nicely. Cheaper than a 1kw space heater and heat the rootzone more effectively

This. Set it under the tent, set it to 20°C and forget it. I grow in upstairs bedroom, and with door closed, -20°C outside, it gets down to about 15°C in there, this pad completely defeats cold roots
