Root rot?

It's all purpled out so I'm not sure what I'm looking at...is it a seedling with dirt on it?
EDIT: I figured out how to zoom the picture, it looks like dampening off from too much water.

Why is the purple light on? Does your phone/camera not have flash? (it does)

That looks like a baby alien from the movie Alien. I'm sorry that's not more helpful and definitely sarcastic, but that's all that I can deduce among all the purple. Would you believe that purple is actually my favourite colour irl too? All these blurple LED manufacturers are going to ruin my love for purple I swear !!!

Looks fine to me. Here's the biggest piece of advice I can ever give. JUST LET IT GROW!! Don't baby it or micro mange it or check it every 2 hours. So many people fuck up their plants (myself included) by getting worried and changing something then worried more and it's just a viscous cycle.

Also, stems can be replanted, so who cares if it get lanky? When you repot the plant just bury the stem.

Also thank you for a normal pic, for real sarcasm aside a normal pic that's not washed out with colour provides so much more information.

Dont bury the stem, thats asking for a case of damping off. If you must then only do it once the base of the stem has become woody. If that seed husk doesnt come off that will be the problem.

is it safe to gently remove the husk now or should i just wait for a few more days for it to drop by its own? not really confident to remove it as I've never done it before.

Well the plant is so very fragile at this age that I really try to avoid messing with it at all costs. That said if it doesn't come off the plant will die.

As that article notes, not planting the seed deep enough is commonly the cause of husks not dropping on their own. This is also a cause of "leggy" seedlings. Next time you might plant the seed like 1/2" to 3/4" deeper.

Probably will wait for day 8? before i manually remove the husk. Hopefully all goes well. i sowed this one about 1/2" though probably would do 3/4" next time. thank u for all the inputs!

Well I've done it several times, I'm talking about when you repot your seedlings, when they are like 3-5 weeks old, not when they are seedlings anymore.

But I recognize that you are far more knowledgeable then me and I myself go to your advice threads so ignore my advice tube63 and listen to renfro but I still think that your seedling looks fine.

And for the husks yeah fragile little babies, I will sometimes blow on them with the gentlest little breeze just kind of coax them to want to move a bit

i took out the husk yesterday, the leaves look pretty good to me. But it has grown taller than before and looks lanky so i lowered my 45W LED a bit. Does it look healthy for day 5 after germination to the seasoned eyes?
