I've had this happen before.

Usually after filling up a fresh batch of nutrients.

It's not slimy. It's speckly almost mineral looking brown shit that comes off if you touch the roots. Feels like dirty water.

They look too brown to be "the funk". Root Rot has more of a grey appearance and the roots will feel slimy and smell like dirt. Smell your nutes, if the water doesn't smell like that then you're fucked!

Personally I think you're ok but I can't smell the roots like you can. I make my decisions based almost completely on smell. Although, when it's bad it's obvious no matter what it smells like.

I hate to say it but if it is root rot you're kind of fucked. It's one of the hardest things to get rid of once you get it. I know there are a million things people say you can do to get rid of it but the only thing I've found is to get rid of the bad plant and bleach the fuck out of everything twice! They pray and say 100 Hail Marys and if you're lucky you won't see it again.

Root Rot is a symptom of a bigger problem. What are you water temps? What are your room temps? If your water temps are above 70 you are asking for trouble. Cold water is key to any hydro success.

Good luck bro!
