how can 920w of cfl use less electric than a 400w hps?
also you will get much better results flowering with the 400w hps vs the 920w cfl which will use over double the electricity!

when we talk about watts we are referring to the amount of energy the lights consume, 980w=over double 400w wether its cfl or hps,
Bare in mind im only using the 300w cfl in flowering as i cannot be bothered to use or set up any more electrical equip.

I know for sure a hps has better results in flowering but also in this way i dont need to have my cupboard doors wide open as the heat output is alot less. I can have them closed without a carbon fiilter sucking the heat out think of the energy im saving there, not using a filter fan and an outside fan infront of the doors. The small fan inside does the job. :joint:

After the period of no updates and seeing the comment to inspire me to upload some new, and up to date pics! :weed:

Both plants have done well 13 weeks old and have been flowering for 7 weeks now.

The clone has done really well too and has now been put into flowering with the others.

The CFL has shown its potential, the plants have hard compact nuggs bursting with crystals and cronic smell! :leaf:

The bagseed was ready to be harvested and is now drying. It turned out not too bad but only produced bushy colas rather than hard compact nuggs like the church has.

Damn :cuss: looks like I have springtails in my soil in both plants, since i noticed them and was moving the soil about they went crazy and started jumping about and going deeper into the soil. They dont seem to have done any damge whatsoever, but they are too small to take a picture of!

I read up about them and they like to feed on mold, this is due to overwatering. Although the surface of the soil may be dry, underneath the soil is still carrying moisture which the springtails thrive on. I'm going to let the soil properly dry out and let the springtails die out, then giving them a good flush to get em out and then the mother plant should be ready for harvest. The clone is doing awsome flowering next to its mother too.

Here are some pics! bongsmilie

:leaf:The clone has suffered with nute burn which isnt too bad, although there is alot more purple leaf/stem than average.

Shes had a flush and i think she will be ok soon.

I think i will harvest her around the end of next month.:leaf:

I forgot to mention on this grow that once it finished it turned out fine, achieved just under 2.5 Oz off that clone!
