One good thing about nature, it has some pretty crazy regenerative properties. I snapped two branches almost the whole way off my white widow while low stress training with metal craft wire instead of rope. (Now I see why they use rope.) I tapped the two branches and about 4-6 days later they were completely healed back to the plant. As long as you didn't burn a huge amount of the plant the rest will grow and you'll beable to harvest eventually. Also It was also a good decision on your part to cut the burnt area off. I believe the plant uses more energy trying to repair itself and if the area is to far gone you're just wasting energy that could be put into new growth.

sorry to butt in but i did the same lol nearly snapped in half but a bit of tape etc an the plant sorted itself out. Amazing what a plant can do with a little help

Your fine and yes! it is amazing what they can do. I'm still shocked to this day that these lil girls survived 90 degree temps for the 1st couple of weeks, being topped during the transition to flowering, and even having nute burn and they bounced back like nothing happened to them at all.

Do you have a grow goin on right now?

Update:
.Nothing really new about her.
.I'm starting to notice that she's a real fatty when it comes to watering and feeding her now. I have to feed her twice a week now and water her 1 or 2 times in between her feedings cuz she's always hungry lol.
.Last week I had a friend over and he noticed that it smelled like weed but it wasn't overpowering so that means the terpenes are kicking in and she's gonna start to put on bud weight this week or next week(or in the coming weeks, I'm just excited is all ). Kinda smells like wet kush to me lol.
.I'm having a hard time fighting the humidity and keeping it at or under 60%. I'm doing the best I can and to it; I either turn on the heater or open a window to lower the humidity.

Update:
After scrapping up some money I got some epsom salt. I noticed Tiffany has a slight cal or mag deficiency so I added 1 tsp of epsom salt to her feed today to help out. I'mma add probably another tsp this weekend to help out in between feeds.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Update:
I've decided to add 1 tap of Epsom salt to all of her waterings and feedings to help out with the deficiency she has. I'll reduce or stop using it once I see there is no need for it any more.
Also she's putting on a little bud weight too. I'm so excited!

Update:
Because my harvest time is about three weeks away I've decided to move forward and try and finish out these next two weeks and just flush with distilled water for the final two weeks because I won't be able to fix the calcium problem I'm having with her due to extreme lack of funds. Will this affect my yield even more even though the deficiency has only taken over a few small fan leaves on my plant?

I've also decided to start removing fan leaves slowly for bud production towards the middle of this week and to help the cal def. I'm only doing this because I've read it from DNA Genetics website.

Minor Update:
Instead of trimming fan leaves I've decided to tie her down for the reminder of the grow.
Also I'm about to start making distill water sometime this week to ensure that when I flush her nothing is left over from the tap water I've been giving her.
As far as the humidity I've got it down between 45-55. Any suggestions to get it lower would be awesome.
Also when DNA Genetics said this was a low odor strain they meant it! I have to rub her trichrome filled leaves in order to smell her good kushness .

I think your yield would be affected if you use distilled water instead of tap water, since it may make the leaves get worse. I don't think you'd need to flush anything out of the tap water, since it's pretty much "natural." Have you tried adding molasses to your water for the last couple of weeks of flushing? I heard good things about it and I plan on doing that. Also it has a small amount of nutrients to help along til the end.

Also I think you should be able to continue using the epsom salts until you decide to flush. Since Cannabis uses lots of magnesium in flowering, it shouldn't hurt at all. If you leave the fan leaves on, that will also help with yield because your buds use them for energy to get fatter! Could you tuck them under the sites where you want to get more light to? That way you don't risk shocking your plant and affecting your yield.

Thanks rob! I've decided to actually leave them on and just tie her down for the reminder since I know clipping off the leaves will hurt her. As far as the molasses I've heard about it but I don't know much about it. I'll read my book but I can't do anything with that until my next grow in January. And thanks for the tips with the distill water. I thought that using distilled water would help since I'm trying to flush out all of the nutes. I will post pics of her being tied down probably today if not Wednesday as I normally do.

.Nothing new about her today just doing my weekly update.
.She's got 3 more weeks give or take.
.This is the last week of me feeding her nutes so I can begin flushing the soil and prepare for harvest.
.She's also taking being tied down alot easier than getting cut again.
Her buds are starting to come on. Hopefully they aren't this small by harvest lol.

Wow! Amazing progress man! This whole grow was done with a CFL?

Minor Update:
.Just ordered some Northern Lights and Blue Mystic autoflowers so expect a new grow journal sometime next month.
.Also I've decided to go ahead and make distill water after re-reading my grow book, so starting next week I'm going to begin flushing with distill water to finish out the grow.
.Also LA Confidential being a low odor strain is semi-true. If I turn off my ona gel bucket for about 3-5 minutes she lights up the whole room lol.

Week 6th
Update:
She's starting to put weight on and the hairs are starting turn amber however some are still white sorta to the naked eye. One of the flowers in the middle looked pretty okay to try and sample. So me being me of course took a sample of her.
I took what I learned from Ed Rosenthal's book and microwaved the little sample to dry out the moisture and I also made a little tea. The stuff is relaxing and just calming. I can't wait to until she's finally finished.
From what I see I don't think I'mma get much off of her as I thought however the product does make up for it's quantity's shortcoming.
ALSO!!!!:
Got baked b4 the lights off and forgot to take pics of her today so I won't have any up until possibly Thursday sorry. Still kinda baked too really good stuff.
The buds smell like wet grass kinda and still taste kinda green but the stuff is great.

Update:
Because of the cal-mag deficiency her leaves were starting to get burnt and dried up all over so Wednesday I decided to chop her down and harvest her. I will be posting pics of the dried bud, the weight of the dried bud, and a smoke report. I really wanted to push this grow all the way but I rather be safe than sorry. I'm hoping between a half to an oz off of her. I made some butter with the leaves and I even got a lil scissor hash too! that stuff had me glued to the couch all last nite.
LA Confidential doesn't yield alot but like I said previously the end product makes up for her small yield. I recommend anyone to grow her; she is very forgiving and can survive damn near anything.

Also be on the lookout for my next grow that's coming in the next week or two. Northern Lights auto and then a blue mystic auto after that.

Sorry I've been busy as of late but I'm here to report on my 1st grow!
Dry Weight
So the yields after letting it dry out came to about 20 Gs. This isn't much but this is still a big deal for me. If I didn't have the height limitations and deficiencies I had this first go round I would have had about an oz or more but I'm content with what I have.

Butter Report
With some fresh leaves and trim I made some butter and man or man is this stuff good! Very relaxing and mellow body high that is great after a long day or just wanting to sit and relax while watching your favorite TV show.

Hash Report
I had some scissor hash after manicuring her and even though it was just a little ball that stuff had me glued to my couch ALL Friday nite. I didn't care that my phone and laptop had died, I was too busy in a stuck relaxed daze to care!

And finally the smoke report

Smoke Report
She creeps up on you and starts with a head buzz. You would think because I harvested on day 42(she finishes between day 42 and day 56 according to DNA Genetics description) that would be the reason for the head buzz but no. As you notice the high coming on, you begin to feel it slowly building up to a nice head high but wait there's more! As your enjoying the head high out of no where she creeps up on you and you begin to feel a warm relaxing body high all over. This narcotic high positions you to be glued to where ever you are. I can say this is going in my top 3 favorite strains of all time. I recommend anyone to try it! DNA Genetics will not let you down one bit!

Well that's it for my 1st grow. I've learned alot and I hope this helps anyone interested in growing LA Confidential with CFLs. I'mma regrow her again next spring. Look out for my next grow starting this week or next week, it's gonna be an auto northern lights and then an auto blue mystic after that.
