rockwool in drip system

I've started my plants in 1 1/4" x 1 1/4 rockwool and I'm ready to transfer them into the drip system. I have 2 dual line air pumps with 1 12" air stone in the return 10gallon tank. I'm only growing a couple of plants at a time and do not want to drown the roots. I've placed hydroton around the rockwool but the rockwool seems to stay very wet even when the drip is set in the hydroton at 2 dps. What should I do, if anything? Would it be better to put the drip tube in the rock wool so that the oxygen would get to the roots better? I've looked and read for a while and can't seem to find a clear answer. Any help would be great. This is my first try.

I don't really know the difference. The Plants don't sit in the water and the grow pots are about 1 inch off the water. I have a pump with adjustable drip controllers.

as far as i know the rockwool should stay slaightly wet always, that is how i keep it in my E&F system... i would use some bigger cubes, the size you use right now i only use for germination and cloning, i would never grow with this once really, for that i use 3" or 4" ones.

really, if you think about it, you use rockwool to get less stress on the plant since it easier to control, but cutting of the water to a plant is pure stress, that is like cops banging at your grows door all day long and you sitting in the tight spot there... you figure what i want to say? use a bit bigger cube and maybe a slower drip rate and this should be fine.:)
