Rocklock 5th week of flower and i cant figure out what the problem is......

Well i have few problems actually, one is i cant figure out what the heck this little yellow thing is that popping out in between the stigmas on a few of the top colas. its very light yellow, about half as long as the stigmas. heres a pic, its the best i could do, its the yellow thing in the center of the bud, it kinda looks like a stigma in the pic but its definetely not.......



my main problem is they seem to have a nute deficiency/ or overdose? they just dont seem as healthy..... besides the discolored leaves they seem behind for 5 weeks, dont they? i cant tell which nutrient there lacking/ or OD'ing from. some of the leaves are yellowing at the edges, some are yellowing at the tips and getting crispy and dry at the edges. i dont know whats up....heres a pic of the leaves, i pulled them off before i took pics of the plants.


heres a shot off most of the girls, most are dna Rocklock..... the yellowing rootbound ones in the bottom pic are OG kush (dont know what cut). the dark green crippled one next to the og kush is a rocklock also but i grew it in used soil and it didnt like it one bit....the tall mofo in the back left is big bud. i know a lot of people say big bud is crap so im just trying one out......so far its frostier than the Rocklock...and big as hell of course.....this is my first grow so any advice or comments on anything are welcomed.

details;
-(2) 1k watt hps aircooled
-most are in 5 gallon pots, some in 10gl and the og are in 3gl.
-soil, super soil and black magic
-nutes ff grow big, ff tiger bloom....never fed very heavy (if at all), actually just fed full dose of tiger bloom for the first time lastweek when i started noticing issues with the leaves.
-always given r/o water (ph'd after nutes)
-runoff test 6.8 on digital meter
-temp is 77-78*f daytime and 67-72*f night
-humidity is 43%-62%

cant really tell but from the description it sounds like a male flower (hermaphrodite)

the yellowing leaves is probably normal due to the plant getting less nitrogen and reaching maturity.

thats what i was thinking but they dont have any other signs of male sex organs.....no seed pods or anything that looks like the pics i've come across of hermies......man im gonna if they turn out to be herms

well if it's new it may not have opened yet or may even be sterile. Once they open they look like bananas once you see seeds forming it's too late. If you suspect it's a male pollen sack just pluck it and be on the lookout for more.

i would do that but i've noticed them in almost all the rocklock top colas and some of the bottom.......i have other plants in there with them and others waiting to go in, if they are hermie's then im just gonna pull them. oh and thanks for posting pipedream i appreciate it

after much research on the net i have found that what i have growing out of the rocklock bud in the first pick is a pollen sack. there is a lot of contraversey on whether it means the plant is a full hermie or not but so far from what i have found all seem to agree that they only create a few seeds and i should try plucking them out rather than trash the plants........does that sound about right? i'm really inclined to just be safe and get rid of them (the plants) because i dont want them messing up other girls i have going.here is a better pic i found of one on the net. the yellow thing coming out of my bud looks just like the one in this pic......

Ah man sorry to hear that.Alot of bad things with the rocklock been happening.People say from fem seeds they get full males.Just from that im suspicious of that strain.

yeah i just came out of my room and im pretty much F**ked!!!!! i looked at ALL my plants a little closer and a lot of the calyxs have a tiny green thing inside that looks just like the start of a seed......everyone of my plants has them, even my el monstre that are only 3 weeks into flower! what a christmas.......i dont even know what to say....im heartbroken....all the time, effort, money, anticipation, ect...... i dont even know what to do now, how did this happen? did those yellow flowers pollinate everything?

My guess is yeah.Just continue to grow the damage is done all ready.Unless you want more hermies dump those beans or grow them and outdoors ..but get some new beans and try again.Take it as a learning exp.

Merry Christmas RIU......i hope everyone had a great holiday. my christmas was excellent! my day was not so great i ended up tearing all my flowering plants out today. i pulled all 16 plants, i didnt wanna waste time/money finishing seedy buds...... i already sweeped and vacuumed the flower room. now im gonna mop the floors and walls with some bleach let it dry out overnight. that should get rid of any left over pollen, right? i think it was the big bud that messed everyone up, it is the farthest behind flowering wise and i found one mature seed in it. the rest of the plants only have tiny little undeveloped green seeds..... they have all only been flowering for a little over 5 weeks so the Big Bud must have been a hermie from the get go, it doesnt look like its past a week flowering......im a newbie, i guess i can say '' lessoned learned''.

do you guys think the clones that i took before the plants started flowering are ok? not the big bud that i think was the original hermie of course, but the others.....rocklock, el monstre, og kush. i have a clone of each that i took to save the genetics.....goodthing huh
