Rock wool cubes?

What's the best way to soak them ( just water? ) or should I add Lemon to it ?

I just soaked mine (Grodan) in some RO (7 ph) water, added some lemon juice as I didn't have any PH down. Let them sit for 12 hours, measured the run off, it was still too alkaline fr my taste, so i rinsed them again and gave them another 18 hours, PH went down to 5.8, just when my Pineapple chunk popped this morning and I just placed the seed with the taproot into one.

Lemon juice is safe btw.

And to think that for the last 13 years I have been pouring tapwater through the rockwool and using it immediately.

The ph is going to readjust the first day of full nutes, I don't sweat the startpoint. To each his own.

Well man, since it was my first attempt at rock wool, I go by what traditional growing literature recommends.

But yeah, like you said, if it works, then so be it!
