RO system question

Just a little Info just bought a new house. It has well water. The house came with a brand new water softner and 2 sediment filters. I have the option to bypass the water softener at my utility sink near my grow rooms. My question is my ppm is between 240/330 depending. Thats with the softener off and on. The water had tons of rust just from the tray run offs I had rust spots on the basement floor. My plants don't seem to care for my water and running my ez cloner has been a nightmare. So im thinking of getting a sink ro system 50/75 gpd. Would this help my plants out and if I get the RO system should I bypass the water softener when I water? Sorry for the long thread just wanted to give as much info as possible.

I would highly suggest bypassing your Softener as your are adding more salts to your water. I would highly suggest running an RO based on your PPM readings being so high. Stealth RO Systems are good, but a bit pricey. Other RO's can be purchased for much cheaper.

If you use RO, run normal sink water that is softened.

Your well water is probably fine, but spend the money and send a sample to a University agriculture dept.

If something is way off, then decide from there.
