Members whose user name is in red are elite. There are several things an elite can do that a regular member cannot. They can give neg rep, can lock their own threads, they can turn their rep on and off, they can get into the subforums that are locked to everybody else. I can't really explain why Uncle Ben doesn't have one but he obviously didn't buy one. fdd doesn't really need one since he can already do all of those things with his mod status. I've also heard that they aren't doing elite memberships anymore. Not sure if they plan to do them in the future again.
Been lurking and checking out this and some other sites, and dude seems like a peaceful, specific with info, helpful type of person, and he can debate without a multiple page shouting insult match if he disagrees. Not sure what elite membership is but i nominate dude for mod status and wartime peace broker. I'm new and bias because i was lurking reading one of his threads and saw a link to this thread, but there's a lot of tense random sparked off fighting on this sight, and dude is like the dude. Like people smoking the right chill medicine. Ok back to lurking. Peace
