revegging multiple times? anybody try it?

Had an idea, don't know if its viable or just crazy.
I have some vanilla kush that is getting close to harvest, and as I didn't take any clones I am going to re-veg them and save a wonderful strain. I've revegged befor with no problems, so how to do it is not the question.

The crazy idea I had was this. Due to the limited space in my grow area, I was thinking that rather than taking clones befor flipping to 12/12 why not just harvest and re-veg them? then do it again, and again and again? would this lead to hermis or a lessening of the plants stamina etc????

As I am growing several different strains and as re-vegging takes about as long as they take to flower, it seems that the timing would work out. But I am concerned about the effects of doing this to the plant in terms of potency, etc..

Any thoughts on this????

Or is this just a dumb idea?

It takes 3-4 weeks just to switch the plant from flower to veg. Seems like a waste of time to me. Don't think you will have a problem with herming or potency loss.

there are definitely some threads around here from summer 2011 where revegging was experimented with and - if i recall - they were saying after 3 time it got pretty woody and shitty

should be easy enough to research

i'd think you'd have MASSIVE root issues by the time a plant spent a year in a pot being stressed

might work like a charm though - i do definitely remember that the revegged plants increased bud production in a very big way

when I reveg I trim the rootball to about 1/3 of its original size and repot in fresh soil, so I don't think roots are going to be a problem. The average flowering time in my grow is about 9 to 11 weeks ( from flipping to 12/12 ) and it would take a revegged plant about that long to rebound from the reveg. 3 to 4 weeks to actually revert to veg state and the rest of the time to put out fresh growth.

Its just one of those crazy ideas I got while watching the grass grow. :)

learning to clone reliably would give you a quicker turnover time.

btw, if you're still interested in doing this i can link you to a thread of a grower who does this routinely and reports that he gets increased yields with each reflower, ...i think he does it 3 or 4 times, ...not only that, he flowers them in 20oz mountain dew bottles and leaves them in the same bottles for all cycles, no repotting, no root pruning, just re-veg and re-flip. ...he's retired so he runs a small SOG for personal headstash.

Ive done it 2 a Ak flowered then revegg and did again, might be in my mind but i do think it lost potency.
This was back in 2008,and many bowls so dont hold me to the potency being less.

Wow, sounds like he has it down. That sounds incredible.

When I re-veg I generally strip the top 2/3 of the plant off, as well as 2/3 of the roots and repot in a good soil. Its always worked for me. I do think I have cloning down as good as I can, its just a matter of how much room I have to play with. I currently have 4 strains in an 8 x 8 ft. flower room. But my grow area is only around 3 x 8, so a lot of clones would take up a lot of space. It was just a thought anyway, I just wondered if anybody had any experience doing such a thing.
Besides, every time I reveged a plant and re-flowered it, the results where so much better than clones or from seed. By a factor of at least 2 to 1. A re vegged plant produces an amazing amount of bud when compared to a clone of the same size. Have no idea why, it just does.
