Hi there MS!

Plants are looking good and the root development looks great! how much bio-bloom and bio-grow do you give them ? I'm giving my plants the same nuts and I'm using 0.5ml of each product per plant (aprox), it's around 4ml/L of each product.

It's said that there are no stupid questions, so let me ask you, how much grams are one Q ? I don't know what the Q stands for so I couldn't convert to grams ;(

And how about the next girls, have you decided which strain will you grow ?

The MKis looking great, and the roots would surprise even the most seasoned growers! Its funny how CFL's are. They grow great weed, but half an inch to an inch can really throw things out of whack!! Did it smell when the bud melted to the light?

lince, I'm feeding about 3ml each of grow and bloom in 2 litres of water, being careful not to overdo as its going directly to the roots with no real soil buffer. I think the key to those roots is the small outer pots with an airspace enough to build up a good rootball down there and for them to breathe, that is they soak up the water then dry out quite fast.

These will out-yield the SW at the same stage, I can see that already. Next strain will be Northern Lights, then more snow White then more Master Kush etc.... thats the plan.

Gumball, yes a strong sweet smell! Burnt right down the side so I just clipped it off to let the buds below take up the growth. The way I have the CFL's clustered around the top it gets very close.

Anyway, another 5 weeks or so will show us if this method is worth the trouble.

Thanks Smucker, that's was my first thought but I wasn't sure :)

MS, probably better to be careful with the nuts yes. I was wondering if I could use the biobizz nutes for a "hydroponic" like that coz I don't think they are meant to be used in hydro systems, but it's good to know they do :) I didn't know you were also using the same nutes.

The rootball looks great but the roots inside the pot look real good as well.

I'm starting to play with the feeding this year coz I've never used them before. I'm increasing the dosage coz I haven't had a nute burn yet, I'll be careful as well and try not to overdo it :) Just trying to find the correct dose and feeding intervals.

BTW, I think I read somewhere that you were good at writing about the smoke, any comments on the high/taste of the NL vs SW ??

Cheers mate.

Hi lince,

I'm a big fan of the Nirvana Northern Lights, had some pretty good results from my little box in the past. The pic below was the last NL I grew and I've posted the link to the thread here should anyone wish to take a look. This plant had a 2 weeks veg period before going 12/12 and a lot of LST to hold her down. There's some good pics of my little cabinet in that thread. I like the high from the NL, very strong and long lasting, but she lacked a little taste compared with the natural sweetness of the Kush strains maybe. The SW is a good combination of strength and taste, a nice big hitter with a clean citrus taste and some sweetness.

Not too bad for 350watts of CFL's?

Ewok, thanks for coming and for the comments. I'm hoping for good results from this 12/12 grow as I get fully dialled in. Good luck with your grow.

Thanks MS,

Yes im the same.. Guess we all want `good results` no matter what lol! Its my first attempt at 12/12 from seed so its just a test run with bagseed atm.
Didnt know if to LST or SCROG this time so.... I decided to ADD the too together so im goin to SCROGLST lol!!

Havent seen it done yet, I know it will work but how well idk! but i like my idea atm :)

Im basicly going to use scrog mesh for the plant to lay on.. NOT under like normal, then as plant grows LST it down to the SCROG mesh!!! my thought was less chance of snapping/stressing ect when re homing bud sites like in SCROG method. Most of the tying down will happen from underneath as the only thing under the mesh will be a pot and lotsa fresh air :)

Hope you can understand my idea with no pics

Anyway there is my lil preview ill keep the sticky tasty bits for when i do a diary with sum fem seeds!

Keep up the good work!

all the best ewok

ewok, I like that idea! It could make scrog style growing much easier as its often a pain to get everything to stay down under the mesh except the bud sights. rep for that :-) Must surely be easier to just tie down on top like you suggest. if you look at the shot below you can see I tried to tie down to a long wooden frame for the same effect but a mesh would be much more rigid I think. No fiddling about under the mesh, just use LST on the mesh........ I like it ewok :-) let me have a link when you start a journal please?

how soon did you start to LST with that plant MS?
About the first week of veg but I kept pulling it/tieing down right through flowering . I made a thin wooden frame from garden sticks and tied down all along but it was straining on the frame, thats why I think ewoks idea is good, a proper wire scrog mesh would be stronger and would allow to bend round etc to get everything just where you want it. I have found scrog to be too fiddly for me, threading and weaving the shoots down under the screen, but I never thought about just using a screen to tie down ONTO!! All you need is a hole in the centre to let the main stem through then start to tie it down all round as she grows :-)

Hi MS!

WoW!! That NL is amazing! looking real good, it's crazy the change from the time she is full of leaves to the time she is at the end of flowering, it looks much smaller hehe. Those tubes you added to lst the plant look mad hehe make her look like a tank or something (in a good way ;))

I see that you also grew that one in a big pot and now you are growing in smaller pots, I do prefer to grow in smaller pots and grow several plants that growing just one big plant, even if I definitely like to see some big ass plant from time to time :)

Cheers

About 4 weeks left now for the 2 MK's. Started 2 x NL's, will follow exact same method of bottom watering etc. The MK that lost its top is now going nicely again and the 2 top buds are beginning to slowly fill out.

Put the same lighter in for comparison with the last shot I posted of her, I hope to see them swell over the last 4 weeks.

Looks great mature :) poor little burnt MK! You still smoked what was left of the burnt top didn't you?

Can't wait to see the NL take off. How much soil are in those pots, 1 liter, or 2 liter?
