Resi tank stinks and ph levels fluctuations... Help pls

Hello fellow lovers of the green variety.
I have a problem and would like every bit of help as I am a newbie.
I am growing hydro run to waiste under 2 x 600w globes, canna coco and canna nutes.
My problem started when I got sick of making feeds every day or second day so decided to do a weekly feed in a resi tank.
I am in 8th week vegie stage and started feeding once a day. After 3rd day I noticed a stench coming from the resi tank and ph levels were close to 8 24 hrs after I downed to 5.5. I thought this must be normal and continued with this.
11 days later my baby's look sick, leaves dropping and spots on some leaves.
I don't know what this is as I have air stones in tank and water is always hovering around 18 degrees Celsius.
Have stopped feeding 3 days ago and flushed with 5.5 PHed water only.
What am I doing wrong?
I use canna a+b, rhiz, cannazym and calmag very moderately at 1.1 tap water being .3 so really is at .8 nutes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated guys.
Cheers.

I dont really understand what you have going on here. Your medium is hydroton in smart bags recirculating into a res below and you are using coco nutes? What size is res and how much of each nute do you add? Any smell or color to it? Idk hydro, just figured you needed a bump and some more info

This is quite confusing tbh.

You said you're doing drain to waste. How does a res fit in? Have you made it into a recirculating system now? Or by "res" do you mean you have a batch of nutes you make up once a week and then use it to feed through the week?

You said canna coco but you have hydroton in your pics? Is the coco under a layer of hydroton?

Either way it sounds like your nute soln has bacteria growing in it. If you have a recirculating system then you may have root rot. Root rot and pH imbalances can give the appearance of all sorts of deficiencies so you won't be able to diagnose much from the leaves.

If you are just making up a batch of nutes weekly and then using that to feed from then it sounds like it's back to daily batches for a while. Difficult to be more specific without understanding what's going on.

Its BECAUSE YOUR AERATING YOUR TANK. Airstones and airpumps dissipate phosphoric acid very quickly. Even an uncovered tank with no aeration will move it back to starting pH (tap/hardness buffer)...just not overnight like an airstone will. ESPECIALLY DRAIN TO WASTE TANKS. Canna nutes has a very good pH buffer built into the base (most brands do). Your destroying it with the fish tank air pumps and stones my young padawan. Take em out. No need. Canna will even tell you so. Common rook rook move. No biggie. You not in hydroton or a more water based system. Your in coco coir broseph. Get rid of the air stones. No more wild pH fluctuations.

And that stench is BECAUSE of the airstones. Your making an anaerobic (not good....aerobic = good.) "tea" basically with all them additives. Especially the Cannazym.

Makes no sense how can he make an anaerobic tea by supplying oxygen? Think you may have that backwards

Supplying oxygen to live cultures for growing does not a "good tea" make neascessarily. I might of worded it wrong but if your making a tea with an air pump (hes not attempting to but did inadvertently ) and if it doesnt smell like fresh earth after a heavy rain but instead smells like stinky ass its best to throw it out and try mixing another bucket full. Anaerobic action is taking over and what not.

Ok guys, I'm sorry if I was not clear in my post. I will try to explain a bit better.
First off, my medium in 18L smart pot consists of 1/4 clay balls at the bottom then coco filled the rest with a layer inch layer of clay balls again.
I have things a bit backwards in my RTW system haha. I have a 150L drum outside the tent that I use to make fresh batches for the week, I've rigged it so that minimal light penetrates. I top feed my plants and it runs out the bottom into a 200L resi ( that I have to drain when full )...
I know I'm making a few mistakes but am absorbing all I can of you guys. Have taken the air stones out and so far day 3 and no stench and no big jumps in ph levels.
My baby's are looking back to there former perky best.
It makes total sense what the oxygen was doing now I think about it.
Ide be lost without you folk on er as I don't know any growers here in Oz.
Cheers guys.
