Reservoir help

Totes would work fine or you could buy a reservoir. Lids are required for algae. Likely the reservoir won't be your problem. Leaks around bulkheads and forgetting to turn the hose off when you fill it would be the leak makers. I forgot once but I'm in a basement so it wasn't too bad...

I used a large insulated cooler/ice chest for years. It worked awesome, very sturdy and helped regulate temps.
Never even thought about. Pretty smart my friend

Theyre fucking indestructible dude. Mine gets run over by garbage trucks every week and it still holds water

Never used one for a res, but in the construction industry we use them all the time. And believe me, we ARE NOT GENTLE with them. They get thrown, kicked, tossed around, and down stairs, and occasionally hit by trucks. We pretty much beat the shit out of em. They're pretty f'ing tough.

Whatever you use make sure it’s the “heavy duty” kind. I’ve used totes and garbage cans over the years. I’ve also had totes and garbage cans both fail and dump my whole reservoir everywhere.
The failed ones were just the regular ones, the heavy duties are still going strong.

It’s all I use now for my veg and flower rooms. Both are about 2 years old now and I think I’ll replace them both soon just to be on the safe side before they fail.

Yep glad to share. I used totes for years before I thought of it and wore a few of the cheap ones out. I also dragged those totes around with water in them for years before I realized I could use hoses and the pump that was already in the res to drain and fill it and never have to move more then a gallon of water around by hand. I also found that the plastic on the ice chest was much easier to clean vs the Rubbermaid plastic.

Good point on the cleaning aspect. The Rubbermaid plastic sucks and never comes completely clean
