Yeah thanks I got it all going today the temps are a little high about 80 but if I open the closet door they drop to a nice 75 nshouldnt be too bad you think? Oooo yeah I also ended up getting xxx o.g so we both got o.gs now too hah
what are you temps about usually lights on/lights off?
My temps are 64-66 when lights are off and 70-72 off. I have an issue with with cold. I have a vornado heating unit that turns on when the lights go out. It does a descent job. I would say 72-75 is great. I use to have my temps really high before my vented hood. They were up at like 80-86. The crop didn't turn out too bad though. I still yielded about 18oz with a 1000 with those temps.

The XXX OG sounds killer. Where did you get it? We gotta see some pics if you get a chance.

Nice even canopy......og18 right? check out mine im 7 weeks today ........ this gonna be a scrogger.. it puts out heavy.....
Hello everyone,

We are here at week 6 day 7. I had to learn a lesson the hard way during week 5-6. My OG 18 plants were bushy as heck and i felt that the light was not penetrating enough to hit the lower bud sites. To mitigate my concerns, I began pruning some of the water/fan leaves from the plant tops. My pruning turned into me spending about 2-3 hours foolishly trimming off most of the fan leaves from all 9 of the plants. I felt possessed in some way. Once I started I couldn't stop. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but now I believe it was too extreme and probably stunted the yield for this grow. Lesson learned. I advocate selective pruning, but not to the point of detriment like i did.

Anyway, The buds themselves are doing ok. That OG Lemon smell is really coming out. I've noticed that the RP OG #18 has more of a lemon fuel smell than a piney smell. I plan on running these plants for atleast 9 weeks. Then drying for 5-10 days with a 2-3 week cure before I make them available to my patients.

Lets get to the pictures

View attachment 2467350View attachment 2467351View attachment 2467352View attachment 2467353

The images above are my CC SFV OG plants and my 9 vegging RP OG #18 plants in the veg box. Out of the 6 CC SFV OG plants grown from seed, I see one that maybe worthy of being a mother. The other ones seem to be less vigorous. This is maybe due grower error. I put the SFVs in the Earth Juice Amazon Bloom soil, instead of my usual Ocean Forest this time around. I really wish I had not. I think the amazon bloom had insects in it. I now see flying gnats in my veg box. Also, the Amazon bloom does not come with perlite. It has a bunch of high quality ingredients, but I recommend amending with 50% perlite because this shit does not have good aeration on its own.

The 9 vegging OG 18s are in CoCo. This is my first time growing in Coco. I've been wanting to try it for a while and made the jump with these 9. The coco I'm using is called 'Peak Coir' by Elevations Organics from Commerce City Colorado - http://elevationorganics.com/. We'll see how it comes out. I transplanted about 1 week ago. Its 100% coco - no perlite or other amendments. My general feeling at this point is that the plants are growing quicker and in soil. I'm still using the entire line of Soul Synthetics with these 9 plants grow in Coco. One thing about the OG 18 that I don't particularly like is how crazy it stretches. As you can see in the picture I've had to engage in plant training. I've topped it and done some LST on the lighter side branches. I feel that with my growing situation I have to be vigilant in controlling the high of the plants and bushing them out as much as possible to reach their potential.

I've made a designated drying room for my harvest recently. The room is usually about 55-65 degrees. I have a activeair 6 inch fan and a phresh filter in there. The filter is really needed for OG.

I've also added another 1000 watt light to my grow room. See Panaramic picture above to see the new set up. I ordered the Lumatek 1000 watt aircooled ballast and it should be coming in mid January. When it comes in I will be able to operate a perpetual grow 2000 watt grow room - harvesting every 5 weeks. (Hopefully)

Blooming Plants:

Above are the ladies at 6 weeks at 7 days. This is measuring from actual flipping to 12/12. I know some people don't count the first week of bloom because the plant is getting still getting acclimated, but I do.

I plan on feeding 1 last time during week 7 before engaging in flushing procedures. I plan to flush the 9 plants with 32 gallons of water, which equates to about 3-4 gallons per plant. The 32 gallons will be with RO water Ph'd to 6.2. The 32 gallons will also be treated with Botannicare's Clearex. I plant to do another 32 gallon flush with just pure RO water at the beginning of week 9, right before harvesting. Some may think this is overkill, but the way i see it, its better to overflush than underflush. I invite any input or thoughts about flushing - or anything else for that matter. I'm sure I'm fucking something up.

Thanks for reading everyone. I will try to update again soon. I'm on RIU daily, so please let me know if you have any questions about my grow.

......snip.....I realized that the wilting was due to my light distance. The light was too close and caused the leaves and stems to curl like a claw. I switched out my adjust-a-wing reflector with a 8 inch vented hood and immediately saw my plants recover...snip...
Yes I've seen this before. I have a 250 watt Metal Halide without a vent. Worse the ballast and hood are combined so all the heat is just hell on the plants. That's why I have a 4' T5 on the way. I'm in pretty much the same place as you. Iteratively improving my grow with each rotation.

Temperature:
The temp in the room is a little colder than I would like it at 65 degrees. It gets cold in Colorado. I would prefer 72 degrees. This grow will will have another 1000w HPS in it soon hopefully...snip...
My grow room was getting to cold as well. I changed out my 600 HPS for a 1000 HPS and my temps were right back in the sweet spot. Hopefully your additional 1000 will give you exactly the boost you need and you can't complain about the extra light.

I'm definitely going to grow DJ shorts Blueberry when I get some more space. I have another room in my basement I plan to utilized in the future. I haven't done it yet due to time restrictions with my career (shit blows). As soon as I get a new job with less hours, I'm doing a room with 4 1000 watts. Its going to be a perpetual. Some other strains I want to try are (CC or RP) Sour Kush, Serious Seeds AK-47, Dr. Greenthumbs OG (Ghost cut).

Thanks Chewberto. I checked out your grow. My oh my, those are some great looking plants! Yea my OG 18 is putting out a very heavy smell at this point. I got 1.5 more weeks. I'm glad to see the plethora of Colorado grower on RIU. Amendment 64 has made it the place to be.

Very cool! This is one of the seeds I've got on the way. I'm subbed and looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
Curious2garden,

NicE! Out of the 6 OG#18 seeds I planted when I first bought the seeds last year - one hermied just FYI. But the one mother I stuck with has been pumping out exceptional plants.

Yeah dude love the blue Berry's and the o.gs and will do on getting those pics up my thread thing is "doing it big with autos 7 northern lights and 7 bio disel" it's like the first one in the auto flower section I'm going to be posting some pics there along with some other little things I'm doing
go ahead and go check it out they should be up I'm going to take them now and upload them it's just from a phone so not such good pics, also with your temps up there from 80 to 86 did you notice anything then bad many like airy buds or something cause I was stressing on it hitting 81 today but if it's. Not that bad then whatever I'm sure It won't reach higher then that.
and that xxx o.g I got from a clone delivery service in San Diego the girl also gave me like a 8th for a sample said she just harvested some, the first pic I looked at looked exactly like the bud I think she could have got here lights closer or bump up to a 1000 her bud was not super dense but I'm sure I could fix that everything else was great super strong Indica stone and frosty as all heck

Week 7 Day 5

Hello everyone,

The aroma is peaking at this point. I have a huge carbon filter on my room and I think the smell is still leaking out somehow. I looked at the trichomes with microscope the other day and they are almost all milky white at this point. I look for 30% amber to 70% milky white trichomes at time of harvest. The buds themselves seemed to have plumped up a little bit more relative to the prior posting. I want to note that I have been feeding strictly according to the Soul Synthetics feeding schedule. The Big Swell and PeaK seem to be having their desired effect on the OG. At this point in the grow, I am mainly focused on flushing the plants out. Lets get to the pictures.

IMG_0420.jpgIMG_0435.jpgIMG_0437.jpgIMG_0439.jpg
IMG_0438.jpg

I will be flushing my plants 3 times with 32 gallons of water each time (96 gallons total) within the next 2 weeks. The first of the 3 flushes was done earlier this evening. The pictures above depict my flushing set up. I know, not the sexiest pictures I've posted, but this process is are absolutely integral to the quality of the medicine I grow. I flush through my drip system and I have placed a 2nd pump in the collection bucket that pushes the runoff through a 3/4 inch tube to my toilet across the hallway. It took about 20 minutes to expend the 32 gallons of water. I think 20 minutes was too fast. I think flushing slower may be of more benefit because it would allow for better saturation of the roots to wash away any chemicals. This is purely my own conjecture.

(Side discussion about watering)
I want to talk about how much I like my drip system. I like growing as much as anyone else, but the hand watering I use to do when I started was very discouraging at times. It was just a chore - I'm sorry, there is no other way to put it. The drip system I implemented this grow has made growing so much more enjoyable. I could not imagine trying to flush my plants 3 times with 32 gallons of water by hand. The halo drip system has allowed for quick, effective and even watering. I know not everyone has the conditions to implement a drip system, I know I didn't when I first started, but I strongly suggest considering one if your a lazy bastard like me lol. Feel free to contact me with any questions about setting one up. If enough people have questions about it I would be open to posting a step by step tutorial in the future. Now back to the grow...

Veg Box Update

IMG_0448.jpgIMG_0449.jpgIMG_0450.jpgIMG_0451.jpg

Lets go from left to right. I had to take one of the SFV plants out because it just wasn't doing well. I have 5 SFV OGs left and they are growing nicely. I can't wait until I can clone these plants.

Now to my 9 OG#18 plants growing in Coco Coir. I've been experimenting with these plants. I getting on this super cropping kick. The other day I just started bending all of the branches and main stocks like crazy. I like how short and bushy the super cropping has kept my plant. I started out with LST and topping these plants, but I think I may be starting to favor super cropping. More on this in future posts.

Now for some news - I've popped 3 Cali Connection Fast & Furious seeds about 4 days ago in Coco. All 3 are going to sprout from the looks of the picture above. The Fast & Furious is the Blackwater x Super Silver Haze per a comment read on the CaliConnection forum.

IMG_0421.jpgIMG_0424.jpgIMG_0425.jpgIMG_0426.jpgIMG_0427.jpgIMG_0428.jpgIMG_0429.jpgIMG_0430.jpgIMG_0436.jpgIMG_0440.jpgIMG_0441.jpgIMG_0442.jpgIMG_0443.jpgIMG_0444.jpgIMG_0445.jpgIMG_0446.jpgIMG_0447.jpg

Above are new pictures of the flowers. I think I may do a 2 step harvest. By this I mean I will harvest all of the tops and trim them in one sitting and keep the lower bud sites under the light for an additional week. I find that when I harvest all at once, some of the lower buds don't get the opportunity to fully mature. Has anyone done this ? and what were the results?

Thank you for checking out my grow - questions and comments are welcome

Subbed real real nice grow! Was contemplating OG#18, I really like your setup budman!

edit: just saw you're drip setup, please explain! I also see watering as a chore and was contemplating getting some kind of drip setup. Any advice?

drip system sounds great! sorry no room... I use deep dish trays under each plant. Made it easier to water by taking a bar mixer liter bottle with those bar slow pour tops. Allows me to reach out over and around pouring into containers slowly. Getting excess water taken up timing wise has improved by purchasing a Siphon for $3 bucks from china. took a month but 3 bucks it rocks....lol. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-Motorcyle-Truck-Siphon-Pump-Hose-Gas-Oil-Water-Liquid-Transfer-Hand-Pump-/170846333884?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27c73c2bbc

Looking really good in there, damn that is a lot of water to be using in the flush your stuff is probley very smooth I'd imagine ha
So my rationale on using so much water is that each gallon of container requires 3 times the amount of water for flushing. So the math breaks down as such:

9 plants x 3 gallon pots = 27 Gallons total
3 times the water x 27 gallons = 81 Gallons required to flush

I'm flushing with 96 gallons totals, so I'm over shooting the mark by 15 gallons. Hopefully this will create a smooth clean burning product. Smoke report to come.
