It usually fades after about two weeks of curing IME.... but i've dried improperly, and it took about a month to totally leave.

Yea I didn't notice the smell to much in flowering but I did have the carbon filter going towards the end. It does seem like it would be really stinky without this filter though.

I have heard a theory on the smell of cannabis in flowering. I wouldn't put too much weight on it, but it kind of makes sense. My plants have no smell either, but I know I have that 265cfm blower sucking the smelly air and heat out of the chamber. I read that if cannabis is under no/little stress while flowering that it lets off very little to no odor. Now, I would take that with a grain of salt, but I take really good care of my plants and I can hardly smell them unless I leave the fan off all day.

I have about 15-20 plants in veg and another 6-8 plants are flowering in different stages and i'm growing 4 different strains and i don't use a filter of any kind. each box has a exhaust fan and there is no smell what so ever! the only time is stinks is when i harvest a plant. I just always thought i was lucky and never worried about it. my plants are healthy and stess free..... maybe there is something to that... what do others think???

me too. I don't have a carbon filter. I just ran my flex from my fan out of the roof cap.

i have three plants in veg, two white widows and if you hold it up to you and smell it it smell like weed, but outside the box all i smell when i walk im my closet is the soil lol and my box is pumping out air with no filter, tho i bought some activated carbon for 5 bucks and plan to rig up a filter its really not expensive to just build one yourself

I don't have much of a choice. I live in a triplex and in the case the air does start to stink, I can't very well have it floating around in the attic. My neighbor is a little bitch. He would either narc on me or steal it.

I've found that when you have to pull the plant out to water it or what not it does put off a strong odor! Ever since I've made my box I haven't been able to pull her out and recently even with this DIY carbon filter vented to the attic, you can smell the KK around the perimeter of my house
But she is getting very close to her end of days so shes getting very stinky now!I've also read that plants put off most of there aroma about an hour before the lights come on, not sure how true that is but it seems pretty accurate...
So I'm not as lucky as you guys when it comes to smell. I'm actually going to fork out another 70 bucks for the right filter because I just realized mine is way to short for the exhaust fan I'm using so that could be part of the problem! I'm just going to use this DIY filter for the dry box because like you guys said it gets really smelly in there too!

Hey man i know what you mean i must stop taking short cuts when i recently moved i did'nt feel like setting up my carbon filter and i did not realize the smell that these two strains will put out..SDG and SB are reeking havoc on my pad man im burning incence and ive got industrial sprayers that spray every 90 seconds three of them and it still reeks if i leave the house for a day or two the whole house smells like kareem abul jabbar had a block party..
