The three bigger cfls are 85watts and the smaller ones are 23w. Performance wise I love em, they penetrate alot better than the 23s, as for your 42s im not sure if the difference would be huge. I would imagine a 200 or 250 would penetrate amazingly just not sure of how hot, the 85s don't really get much hotter than the 23s honetly so I wouldn't think 200w would be much hotter.Like to ask you a question. I am currently rocking out 975 cfls and its working very well. I have 30 23s and 7 42s spread over two and a half girls. I like using smaller cfls cause coverage is never a problem just need to adjust. I see your rocking a 200w 6500k CFL in the back could be wrong and it may be 150 regardless how do you find the performance of that bigger bulb? I was going to get two 200 or 250w and either pimp the flowering room with two 2700k or start a veg room with two 6500k thoughts? I would build hoods for them as well. I know 500 watts be perfect for the Veg so my question really is performance and penitration. Thanks in advance.
Yeah heat isn't a issue at all, I love my 42s and could easily have a set up of purely 42s. Even at 85 watts its a big CFL, was just hoping I could get away with a bigger bulb and move the lights away some.
