Rescued Plant

Took this off a friends hands when it was 3inches and the leaves had holes in them even.. I didn't have much hope for it but with some sunlight I have grown it to 8 or 9 inches now in a short period of time. The new leaves have no holes (because of the lack of bugs now), and it seemed as thought the plant had little or no shock when i moved it from its place in this guys backyard to its potted place now.. The stem is getting strong as i have a large fan that hits it all day lightly.

I believe it is a female but im not entirely sure. How do you guys tell on your plants? Am i right in Classifying it as an sativaish plant? This thing also smells way nice too.

You can see the damage on the bottom leaves that is still there but getting better..
