Rescue! Need help!

Just joined RIU, i think ive read about half the posts in the past 4 days. LOVE IT!

So my funny asian friend decides about 3 months ago to plant some seeds he found in some random bag of baller nugs. he planted 2 in a party cup and put it on his window sill. Both seeds sprouted... so naturally he fed them beer... for 2 weeks. (with water too) SOMEHOW, i visited him today and saw it on the window sill in the same damn cup, both stalks reaching about a foot with some sad sad foliage, but dont appear to be in HORRIBLE shape. I have only seen female characteristics so far, praying no hermie. He told me he went back to asia for 2 weeks and forgot to leave the blind open, and no one watered it. SOOOOOOO... today i asked him if i could take it home with me. Ive never actually completed a grow, however i did purchase a 400w hps Sun System a while back with intent. (even invested in the Eye Hortilux supreme extra sick buld, haha) Back to the story... brought it home, whipped up a casserole of vermic, perlite, sphag peat, bat guano, and miracle grow african violet (only thing i could grab quick) and transPLANTED the PLANTS into about a 2 gal ice bucket?? yes, ice bucket. Watered thoroughly, put em approx 1 foot from the 400w and ive got my fan directed toward the ballast/wall to cool and give the sick ol hags a light workout.

ladies and gentlemen, this plant is coming from an abusive owner, with no consistent light cycle and cramped roots.:-|

MAIN QUESTIONS: do i give them something other than the normal 18/6 to perk em back up?

Trim? Possibly top?

any other suggestions/advice for me in the meantime?

Thanks in advance!
PICS ON THE WAY!!!

They don't look to bad to me, but I'm no expert. I think the fan and lights should be enough to sort them out.
The only thing I'd say is that I don't think the ice bucket is a great idea. You need a container with drainage holes at the bottom, otherwise water can collect there and rot the roots.
Good luck though. Keep the pics coming

Actually they dont look that bad at all:) just stretchy...
I would top it, or bend it and keep it under that hps....:) Itll start doing much better... obviously giving it beer wasnt the smatter thing your friend could have done... But the least he could do was leave the shutters open....
Im sure youll do a great job at keeping these babies alive....
peace out

Thanks guys!

Yeah the ice bucket was NOT my first choice obvi but i plan to re-translplant into a 3 gal with holes once they start to rehabilitate.

So its been about a week now, signs of improvement but also signs that i need to tweak some things (curling, purple stems, spotting, etc.) Humidity is around 30% and temp fluctuates between 65-80F. I transplanted out of the ice bucket into something with holes. Hopefully it wont shock them too much.

Let me know what you think! Thanks.:leaf::leaf::leaf:

your done there is nothing to tweak, correct lighting now will help you already transplanted now let time do its thing. Dont water until the plant needs it, you will learn how light the pot feels when it needs watering and every 3rd watering or so allow some good runoff through the bottom so the PH and salt levels dont get too high. They look fine dont mess with anything else just check daily and water when needed. The 400w will bring it back very soon.

The plant looks like its been tripping a bit as the leaf sets are not normal looking as if its been revegged from flower state. Give it couple of weeks to start normal growth under that 400 and keep the 18 going to give it a schedule it can adapt to. It does look like weak lighting and no schedule have allowed it to just remain alive but not grow much. You should be good to go now just sit back and watch the 400 do its thing
