I don't understand why people feel like they have to bribe people with +rep just to answer there questions just a bunch of bullshit IMO what you think?

Rep is overrated. If you ask politely you will get help from members. But if you ask a question that can easily be searched, then it won't matter how much rep you have because stupid questions sometimes deserve stupid answers

I'm still a n00b, IMO, so some, if not most questions are probably above my "pay grade" but you have to admit, there have been some questions lately that makes you wonder if they should even be growing. I've seen some threads where people literally want you to grab them by their hand and walk them through each and every single step without making any effort to research on their own

Or they'll post something and an hour later come back and say "36 views and no comments!?!?!?" when their answer could have easily been googled.

I have seen complete idiots with lots of rep. Now with the new "like" feature hopefully rep will actually be growing related.

I know what you mean, the threads I was talking about have to do with real easy answers that literally take no time to find if they'd just put in a little effort. Instead of starting a thread and waiting for someone to answer it, they could easily just google it and get what they're looking for. Too bad the search function for RIU isn't up to date, I've had trouble finding stuff I was looking for on this site...

I agree, that's why I said rep is overrated :D My profile looks like I have a lot of rep but in reality I'm still learning how to grow and don't even consider myself a novice yet but when I see a thread with someone asking for help and I think I can help, I usually do.
