hello growers of the world, CG is here:leaf:

so i read about growing a mother with a "bonsai style" , and i saw that he cutting with a knife the root lock..

i have a 3 month old female , in a 6.5 litter pot , and the roots r coming out the drain holes , so probably close to a rootlock.
Can i use this method if i want to repot in a bigger planter and there's a rootlock ?
or can i just pull her out , pot her in a bigger pot and nature will do it's thing n root will expand normally ?

Sum lads I know like to leave the plant to get rootbound b4 repotting, they reckon it promotes better growth,,I'm unsure but be gentle breaking them apart or u could make up a bcket with luke warm water i'e not direct out of tap,let it sit a while add kettle water to take the chill,, check ph is 5.8 and add a little root stimulator rhiztonic or alike and carefulyy dunk the roots in water wen out of the pot,, saves using ur hands and possibly damage ur roots. U can use a air pump in the water too to loosen the roots

Good luck

If you -gently- loosen the root ball and are careful with transplant into a bigger pot the plant will be just fine.. may experience a day or three of transplant shock, you may see a lil' bit of yellow in the leaves but it should be fine otherwise.. unless you're completely reckless and try to use a knife to make slashes through the roots to 'free' the root ball in question. (I wouldn't mention it if it hasn't been done before) That said, you can do -gentle- root trim if it's coming out of the drainage holes to free it.. but don't prune the roots like you would a tree or plant.

a'ight , thanks guys ..
so i shouldnt do as in the image above, i can just gently loose the roots and repot...
i just need to wait for the harvest of one of the plants so that i will have enough room for a bigger pot in the grow space.

I believe Uncle Ben has a topic on this somewhere....from my recollection it says to use a clean razor blade, and go North to South cutting in a few spots then repot
