Removing the Lamp hood (Aerogarden 6 Elite)

Anyone else use the Aerogarden 6 Elite? I have a nice plant growing under the hood that came with it and it's lights. If I removed the hood and put the aerogarden under an HID light would that work?

not clearly understanding what you're exactly saying, but my guess is that you're asking can you remove glass off of the hood and still use the hid lighting? if that's what you're asking, the answer is yes.
