my lr2xak47 are covered in branches and am wondering if its worth removing the spindly lower branches to increase the energy to the bigger ones or is this just a myth??

I know people remove the upper fan leaves to allow more light to penatrate the lower buds, but I'm not sure about removing "spindly" lower branches.

thanks supanova. the foliage is quite dense. and the lr2xak47 went a bit crazy with the branching . i even got weird branches growing out of the first set of round leaves (not sure of the name the ones they use to split the seed case) how bizzare is that!!! there must 30 crowns on the ladies and after underdoing the pot size im concerned the fatties at the top might suffer. too late to do anything about repotting now, i'll just have to wait and see

I've heard of many people cutting the lower branches to focus energy to the top cola.

High FNugs.. Controversial subject... Alot say; no!

Lighting would play a role too.. flouros maybe not to trim... I dono?

I grow scrog/HID.. Trimming (more than once) works for me.:blsmoke:
Remove the bottom 3 sets of branches (when they are a PITA!), ala Lucas and top 'em at node #7 (or not if SOG)
Rid yourself of that scraggle! LOL!! It works fine. Plants do not miss the undergrowth and air circulation is improved. More energy to the top!

Good luck..:joint:

cutting the lower branches is called lollipoping.
when ur flowering u cut the lower branches so it fixes its nrg on the ones it has left, ie. bigger buds

it i one of the best ways to get MASSIVE dense sticky buds...its called lollypoping..you get only one Big bud...

YouTube - Mailbag

here is a video that will blow your mind..4 ounces pre plant all in 1 or 2 huge buds...

also...there is nothing wrong with some cheap additional cfls...
to put in problem areas...

lastly, if your lighting from the top...the bottom is what will suffer. If its not to late i would lollypop them but either way im sure you will be okay...
goodluck

mmm lots of conflicting advice. these are autoflowers and they can be quite sensitive to sudden changes and flowering only for 6 weeks. they are under a 600w hps. cant really afford to use any more lamps.
i may try removing lower branches off one of them.

did u watch the video?....there is lots of conflicting advice because....there is lots of ways to go....they all will work...for the most part...6 weeks i think is to far into flowering tho

I saw the video and noticed that on topping it won't make much difference as well as if you do what is shown in video , I think it would be hard to grow the bud of this size.
