Removed a lot of "leafage"

hi,

been concerned about the amount of light the buds on my hindu kush have been getting.

the number one cause of this are the fan leaves. they were massive, blocking too much light.

i got a bit scissor happy and decided to take a few off.

the buds are much more exposed now, looks weird. but good....

what should i expect now? slow growth? shock? hermie? hope not....

You've probably just reduced your harvest a little, which is nothing compared to the crap you'll likely get here for removing leaves!

You fucked up. Never take away fan leaves, they SUPPORT YOUR PLANTS LIFE PROCESSES! All kinds of things might happen now. Maybe hermie, maybe stunted growth, maybe it wont finish right. Or you could get lucky and see no adverse affects, but growth will surely slow.

damn, i told myself from the start i was going to do it as naturally as possible, let dead stuff fall off, not pull it off etc...

but this is my first grow and im experimenting slightly. haven't touched my ak-48's nor do intend to.

thats like removing leaves on your apple tree to get more light on the apples.... pointless; most, if not all of the photosynthesis happens in the leaves...

learn from your mistakes and the only people who will bash you are idiots... dont sweat it.... it'll still make it; ive seen some horrible ideas on here that have still made nice plants... you'll be fine

thanks, stupid thing was i knew it wasn't the best idea. i didn't remove all of them.

there are still a lot left on. just some that were smothering the smaller buds.

uh i read some where that trimming some of the big fan leaves isnt that bad, as long as you dont go overboard. when i have some big fan leaves blocking stuff i just get a string and tie it back, better than cutting it off i think.

dont be ashamed..... we'll neg rep anyone to give you shit... you arent arguing that removing the leaves HAS to be better for the plant... people that ask for help, and then actually take it dont get made fun of... at least not by me

Being totally honest i am not a pro, but from my experience...
You want as many leaves as possible. Light on your bud will do nothing for the plant. Photosynthesis only occurs in the leaves. I use more lights than most people. I let the bottom leaves get a lot of light also because if they are getting more direct light they will make bigger buds. If you have light on every leaf then they are all proforming photosynthesis. A plant that is not recieving light on particular leaves is going to kill off that leaf. If you cut off that leaf you are doing that plant a favor...
another thing to think about
Leaves that are closer to the roots are going to get more nurishment. Mostly people leave the lights just at the top of the plant and just hope that some is reflected to the bottom. I actually have lights near the bottom of the plant also just to make sure the maximum level of Photosynthesis is being accomplished. I laugh at other peoples plants because their buds come off as big as their thumbs..lol
The buds on the plants i grow are mostly the size of my wrist "give or take."

please stop spreading misinformation..... those leaves are also storehouses of nutrients and sugars for the plant... mobile nutrients sound familiar???

are you kidding? Plants NEED leaves to flourish. If you know how to utilize the leaves to their fullest extent then awesome, but if you don't know what the hell you are doing... then cut them off...

I can yeild up to a pound of my shit man. In 2 months. All I use are Ebbs and bubblers. Fuckin semi trailer under ground dude... I know what the fuck this shit is... I thought this was advice giving.
