I started 6 seeds each in their own little red party cup with miracle grow seed starting mix. I am going to use coco (canna) as the growing medium. When I put the plants in the coco, do I have to remove all the miracle grow off the roots or something? And how long should I wait to put them in the coco?

are you using coir or chips?
If your using coir soak the coir in water for 24 hours first
If its coir and chips just soak it down till its wet

then pull the plant from the party cup by tipping it over.. get a bucket of water and dissolve the dirt from the roots by gently bobbing the base in bucket of water until the soil is gone.. dont worry about lingering soil that just wont separate it doesnt matter and wont hurt the growth. Then dig a whole in the coir with ur hand and place all the roots in a ball in the whole dont worry about spreading them out. cover them up and make sure the plant is sturdy.

After transplant the plant will be in shock so you wont see any new growth for up to 2 weeks.. so dont worry.. use only water with a very light 1/10 strength solution or fish tank water if you have access until you see growth new growth emerge.

Also coconut coir is an amazing seed starting substrate so get the stuff with chips in the coir as well and soak it down and seed start right in the coco next time. That way there is no transplant shock.

i'm using Canna Coco, it doesn't need rinsing before use. Could I transplant without rinsing any miracle grow off of them? just stick it all into the coco?

oh honestly ive never used canna coco so you got me there but my point about soaking wasnt to rinse it.. It was so the coco absorbs the water over the 24 hr period and wont develop dry spots.

As for transplanting with soil to I wouldnt advise it. I did that once when I first started hydroponics, what happened was the roots rotted around the dirt from being to wet without enough air. So I would wash them so you can water evenly.. The dirt is not the issue, but the air delivery is and soil is just packed to tight to be watered as much as coco.
