Remove bud without killing your plant

Has anyone ever just tried to carefully remove the smaller buds or branches, top their plant, and put it into the veg cycle again? Can it be done without killing your plant? Ive never heard of people trying do something like that before and was just curious

Just search "Reveg" here. It's done all the time. As well as topping, fimming.
