Relative humidity for curing.

Hey i have a question about R.H.

so . in a room where my herbs are beginning the jarring process, the humidity reads 80% with around 20 - 25 degress celcius .

Now it seems the herbs are not really drying out because humidity is so high, so the herbs remain most and dank smelling.

I put some by my computer fan where it blows warm heat, and it crisped up niceley and tasted and smelled more " kushy " .

im worried that the herbs have already reached ther equilibrium with the rooms R.H. ( 80 %) and they wont continue to cure and get better...

Any suggestions or feed back??? ? ?

What do you mean reached their equilibrium? Buds will eventually dry to a crisp in 80% RH so that doesn't make sense... though they'd probably mold before that happened. Are you monitoring the humidity inside the jars? It's really not hard at all to get RH down IMO (just add more fans) but if you're still having problems, you might want to invest in a dehumidifier. But really, it should be as simple as putting your buds in a jar and burping when the RH rises to over 63.

what about when you harvest lbs? cuz jars take like 16 thats a lot of burping now multiply that by like 6 and im like wtf where do I put my jars.

well what i mean by "equilibrium" is the buds have evened out with the R.H. in the air.

I dont have a humidity tester small enough to fit in the jars, but either way wont the jar become the same R.H. inside as out side once i open it?

And when i add more fans the humidity goes up. unless its warm air blowing.

And the buds are dry they are jus spongey and not crispy crumbly. No mold becuase ther was alot of fans on them for first few days of drying./

see i guess i got a problem because i cant achieve 60 % R.H. The whole house is 80% R.H. . fans dont change the R.H, much except make it rise a tad.

The buds shouldn't be in a jar if the RH is that high, take them out and dry them out further, then put them back into the jar.

Why would buds dry to a crisp when the relative humidity is 80%? How long were you expecting that to take, yet in the very next sentence you say they would mold before drying...

There are large containers that are air tight which is all that is required, not necessarily glass.

You have to fix your RH issues, otherwise you will never be able to dry your herb properly.

You need a dehumidifier.

the brovida humipack wont help with the initial drying/curing stage. its more of a maintenance product to keep your already cured medicine at a stable r/h% while in the jars. and to the OP, I harvested xx amount of meds this last run and had 11 1/2 gallon mason jars. everyday for 2 weeks I would burp. sometimes 2x a day for 5 mins each time. now im at a stable r/h level, have my 62% packs inside AND I vacuum sealed all my jars. :)
