regrowth on buds??

Northern Lights at 8 weeks flowering, all the trichromes are still clear but the buds are being covered by sugar leaves. The buds are super compact and the leaves are small and heavily covered with resin glands, but not showing the actual flowers. What causes this? What would you do? Harvest now before trics fully mature?

i did have a slow ripening NL pheno, didn't have that many sugar leaves
not unusual to see new bud growth on a seedless bud
the usual advice is to hang tough and let it ripen until you see some amber, how much is a tougher call

Remember, that even if after you cut the plant down, the trichomes continue to amber up for a certain period of time during drying.

And remember, Amber is THC that is degrading/degraded. So don't wait forever for a bunch because that just means you are losing potency. Also I hear some strains take awhile after their harvest window before you start to see much amber

And the best tool for the job is Active Eye Microscope.... comes with a bright LED and 40x magnification.... the trichs look as big as trees in a forest with this thing... (not quite, but easy on eyes, very easy.)

Anonymuss is right. That thing does suck. I have yet to find a microscope that works well for me; haven't tried active eye though.

Getting back to the OP's question, I wouldn't worry about it. Let it grow and it will be fine. After you harvest, you'll definitely want to make some hash.

This is the one I use and I think it does a damn perfect job for a low price. Get one that looks like this and you will have one that works pretty damn good.

Just buy a 30x scope from growell for 15quid, its brilliant. You would have to be a retard to try and use a 100x zoom, are you trying to look at trichs or the plants DNA?? lol trust me you dont need more than 30x zoom.

Thanks, but my "retarded" self enjoys using a microscope to look at herbs at 30x - 100x just fine, the 100x allows me to see what 30x doesn't thank you very much. Also its only like 5 or 6 bucks which is a lot cheaper than 15quid and you get more zoom if you want it.

a magnifying glass would be perfect if they had the range, not having to squint your fucking eye into a plastic hole and hold perfectly still

Mate i meant no offense but trichs look like maces through 30x, I would love to know what your looking for with all that zoom?? and for 15quid mines lasted 5 years no probs so far plus it focuses with ease and stayes like it, you need to look over a wider area to see the average colour aswell. So you keep looking at 1 trich at a time.

um No offense to you either... (it is offensive to say someone has to be a retard). I dunno about you but my eyes work fine I have good 20/20 vision and I can see plenty of trichs just fine at 30x and 100x. Obviously there are things you can't see as well at 30x as you can at 100x, and if you can't see a difference or are only able to see a single trichome or some DNA at 100x then you should get your eyes checked. There is nothing wrong with the style of Microscope I proposed. It looks like I did mess up, its 60x up to 100x. But it also has a light, a stand with the bits to hold one of those little plastic slides, and it works and you can get it for less than 10 bucks shipped about anywhere.

What microscope do you use? I am thinking of getting a good USB one but I'm open to others.

I personally use one that has a little smaller of an opening on the front causing it to be a lot easier to see what is needed to be seen. Its a 60x-100x and reaaly I only use it at 60x to see the trichs because like rainz says, you need to look over an area, not just one at a time. the ones originally stated as sucks, do suck, the opening on the front you could fit your hand through, but the ones like jdizzle says ALSO suck. i got mine for 8 bucks off ebay and it rocks the party. I also have a usb microscope and it works pretty well. Heres some pics taken with it. It only goes up to like 52x on a maximized window, and then when you snap the pic it reduces it back down to like 36x, but its still pretty handy and cool.

40x

This scope is amazing. The angled piece hold your two AAA baterries and it contains a bright LED bulb, available in clear or green. You simply rest the top of the view guard on top of the specimen to examine, for example, a sugar leaf tip. You simple roll the focus adjuster wheel with your finger to focus. The view is amazing. You can clearly see every trich, in clear, perfect clarity. There is no fuzziness on the edges or other weird vision issues that some scopes have. This is truly a great scope and can be had for about $20. It also has a mm cross hair type overlay that allows you to identify the length of insects for quick identification.

silly Chinese, mine looks almost exactly like yours. Although mine uses a white LED and yours uses traditional bulbs? Do you know which USB scopes are best for their price?
