Almost anything is better than tin foil. That blanket will work fine for lining your walls but not too sure how to rig it for a reflector.

just make sure you get the wrinkles out of it .... it will work ok .. keep it at least 6" from the bulb

well it did cause hot spots till i got the wrinkles out lol found out that was very important lol .. if you do get it too close it will shrivel up (melt and shrink) like you mentioned .. i used the old back of the hand to figure out how close i could get it and its important to keep a fan blowing on it for dissapation of the heat from the bulb , otherwise it builds up way too much .. but i only used it for a month then went cool tube .. hope this helps

yeah i have it in my grow box, its folded like 7 million times in the 2x2 inch package lol

another thing i jus grabbed is some xmas wrapping, its silver and a lil bit thicker than the emerg blankets and has no folds...that might be better for a shader maybe
