Reflecting the Sun for Bigger Yields

I install glass, we put big new mirror agingst the house tell we removed the old.
In about a half hr It had burned a bout a 4x8 spot in the grass.
Haha wow, thats too bad...

Yeah stealth aspect goes out the window on this one, but it does make sense they could get fried pretty quick. Where I'm from it's not sunny most of the year so any extra light would be beneficial.

I don't believe everything I see on TV, but I just saw a Mythbusters episode where they built a replica of Archimedes "Death Ray". When focused on one spot the array of mirrors could start a fire, but when diffused slightly, there was not a huge difference in temperature, and the brightness was still blinding.

UV might be what ends up killing the plant though....or some extra frosty buds!

I dont think it killed it, but it definatly browned it pretty bad.
And they called the boss.

Also if you lay a piece of clear glass on some grass it will brown/burn the grass under it.

They did a second part on it and showed a temperature rise on the exact focus beam to be over 200f.
