Long time lurker and I finally joined to share this device with you that I've been thinking about using in my first grow.

I'm been an aquarium enthusiast for years. This is an amazing device for the price. I'm planning my first grow in the basement and this will come in handy.

1.) It has a timer to turn the lights on and off. No big deal but it has a sure on feature. Sure-On is a 15 minute delay that gives these expensive and sensitive bulbs time to cool which insures safe, continuing usage over time.
2.) It includes a thermometer. A range of temps can be specified. Temps get too low at night in my basement it will turn on a small portable heater. Temps get too high it can turn on a fan. Temps get dangerously high a max temp can be set to turn off the light.
3.) I'm going soil first but this has application in hydro. A pH meter can be purchased and attached to the system. This would be especially helpful in a recirculating system. pH gets too low the system could turn on a pump to pump a pH lowering fluid. Ph too high. Vice versa.
4.) This unit could manage the temperature of your hydroponic nutrient solution. Too low it can turn on a heater. Too high it can turn on a chiller.
5.) It you had a top off reservoir for your hydro system you can get a float switch kit to automatically top off your reservoir.

6.) Now here is the shit. The net module.

You could use this to monitor your system away from home. Check what's going on from your phone/internet/email whatever.

These reef controllers are used by thousands to aquarium enthusiasts to control and monitor all crucial parameters of the system. They have a lot at stake with tanks full of coral and fish that cost big big bucks. It would take some dialing in to get it perfected for growing purposes but it might be worth looking into.

I haven't looked at the new ones for reptile keeping but those might be worth checking out too.
