I a have two problems. Here it goes:
1. Both of my plants have red/purple stems. I first noticed minor red/purple coloring about 3 weeks ago. I read online that this was due to a nutrient deficient deficiency. So I kicked up the nutrients from 100% strength to 125% strength. This did not cure the problem, so I kicked it up to 150% strength. I have not noticed any significant improvement. One is a white russian and the other is a AK-47. They are in 3 gallon pots with soil under a 250 watt metal halide. The temperature fluctuates between 74 and 84 degrees and the humidity is around 30%. I spray them every day and water every other. What is wrong? (see pics)
2. The other problem I have is that the plants are getting close to the reflector. (see pics) They are currently experiencing minor browning from the heat at tops with contact to the reflector's glass. These are mother plants, should I top them? How do I control their height?
Thanks for your time.
