Red heat rod affect flowering plants?

Hello all,

Ive been having a issue with one of my rooms during flower and needed advice from advance growers that will have a definite answer on this question. This is my first grow on my own and its been tough keeping temperatures stable when lights are off. Im in the cold winter, and when the lights are off i sometimes get a temperature drop of 10degrees Celcius from lights on to off! I installed a heater controlled by an inkbird to turn on when temperatures drop too low, and just realized the next day that it emitted a lot of red light from the heating rod when on. Will this affect or over stress my flowering plants or term them into hermies? so my question is does the red light from the heat rod affect my plants during sleep cycle?

i cannot cover it up as it would be a hazzard. i have one other small heater that doesnt emit light but it does not do enough to heat the room. the one with the heat rod is big and is hung against a wall pointing down towards the plants.

thanks for the advice in advance.

100% darkness, you will only make matters worse by having a red light glowing in the flower room. I've grown in really cold night temps before and my plant's had no ill effect. When I have used a heater tho I had it blowing into the intake to warm it up a little bit worked for me.

If you can orient the heater such that the glow isn't direct you may be able to get away with it provided it's not close. The plants don't need 100% darkness but very close and red light would be bad. Green is fine, I work in my dark rooms all the time for an hour or two a day with a green LED headlamp and not one banana. If you can use one of the electric oil filled radiant heaters that would be ideal as you are playing with fire so to speak with the heater glow. Sorta a balancing act between the evils of light in the dark cycle and cold temperatures.

The heaters that use the red glow to heat things are relying more on infrared to heat surfaces it hits as opposed to heating the air like a forced air heater or oil filled radiator style heater that focuses more on heating the air.

It is throwing lots of far red and infrared so it will definitely make a difference. If you can see the glow, the plants can too. Infrared is invisible to us but not the plants also.

You should just get a oil rad and have a fan blow on it I do it I make sure it’s on 20 mins before lights out and turn off 20 mins before the lights come on
