I have a "virtual" debit card through paypal. It generates a card number that can only be used 1 time. (you can set it for re-occuring payments if need be) I use it for everything I buy online.

just went through the same thing today. this bank I only use for deposits then transfer out to other account. hardly ever use it for debit transaction. I must have used it through pay pal. woke up this morning and the bank called to see if I had ordered a I-phone to be sent to UK somewhere. $370 not a large amount but it was just under the balance of the account at that time. thank god they didn't hit me 2 days before when there was actually money in the account. pay pal was on top of it and notified my bank and in turn the bank called me. had it settled in less than a hour. same as the guy before. temporary deposit till all claims are investigated. luckily the package was not sent and the debit was still in pending charges.

Exactly. My last seed purchase was 8/8/08. Thats 2.5 months since I even used that card for seeds. The people doing this have experience at ripping people off. They get their info and then lay low until they think the coast is clear. Buyer beware
