recommendations needed for the best SOG strains

i am planning on getting into SOG technique of growing. i just got some seeds (greenhouse super silver haze, and soma's nycd)

i know they say that the super silver haze requires 11 weeks to flower so that is a little long for SOG i guess?

i don't know exactly how long the nycd takes to flower though. i have 10 nycd seeds so hopefully i could come up with 3 or 4 moms from that if i am lucky

or should i not go with the nycd and go with something else?

SOGs use short-veg strains, sometimes autoflowering strains like Lowryder and ruderalis crosses. For a SCROG op long flowering times don't matter, as you're spending time training plants to a screen anyways.

so would i be able to run with my nycd and get good results? i would really prefer to do that but if not i gotta find something else that will work good too

attitude has some quick flowering strains like

Dinafem Seeds California Hash Plant Cannabis Seeds Marijuana Seeds
Dinafem Seeds Powerkush Cannabis Seeds Marijuana Seeds
White label White Diesel Feminized Cannabis Seeds Marijuana Seeds
Lowryder 2 x AK47 Feminized Auto Flowering Dwarf SPECIAL OFFER Cannabis Seeds Marijuana Seeds

i would really like to stick with nycd though if i can pull it off

here is the basic set-up i am working with. i always thought that me actually doing a SoG would be way too much work for my cramped quarters but i have been managing pretty good after stepping into hydroponics so i definately think i will be able to swing it pretty easily

i definately want to get it right the first time and i think i have basically everything that i will need to get off to a good start, except for the seeds

like i said i would love to run with the nyc diesel, i see the diesel ryders that would keep low and still have that diesel smoke, but since they are autoflowering i am wondering how good they are for taking clones from???

is it easy to get clones from such an fast bloomer? or do they do best from seed?:leaf:

You're not taking clones from an autoflower, sorry to say. Your setup on paper looks good. I've never grown any diesel strain (I don't even pay attention to strain names, I just grow) but for a Sea of Green you want strains that can flower with a short veg period from clone.

yep i had a feeling that there was no way to clone an autoflowering plant..

i revised my earlier plan with less flowering plants in my SoG. i think it will be more sensible that way and be much easier to work with

i am definately leaning towards Dinafem's Hash Plant

Dinafem Seeds California Hash Plant

10 seeds per packet
Indica

Dinafem Seed’s California Hash Plant is pure East Indian; a region known for being the producer of some of the finest Indica grown. By crossing two sisters of the of the same genetic line, we were able to create a fast flowering, high yielding, mould resistant plant that offers a very good yield with good quality. Medicinally, a very soothing, and sedative effect can be expected. Not over powering but more mellow. It calms, rather than excites. Like a good hashish.
Growing: Indoors/Outdoors
Flowering: 45-50 days
THC: (8% - 12%).
Genotype: 90% California Hash Plant x 10% Northern Lights
Feminized: Yes

how does that look for a major player in a small SoG grow op?

The clones I took from my snow white mothers where put immediately into flowering once rooted and produced single cola plants yielding 1 oz each.

personally i would go with your original choice of super silver haze. in a SOG you can stop it from stretching by putting out the light for 72 hours and this will enduce flowering much faster and keep height down to a minimum.

the tall characteristics of sativa suit the sog. just keep tucking the branches under your mesh or frame.
You're thinking of scrog, or screen of green. sog is a completely different grow method, they just have similar acronyms.
In sog the intention is to have more smaller plants, often lollypopped to give one single large cola, and have a steady supply of fresh clones going into the setup every two to four weeks, normally with four tables of plants, each at a different stage of flowering so that as you harvest one table, a new batch of clones is ready to take their place, so the flower room is always a Sea Of Green.
I do hope that makes sense I'm fried.
