Outlander should turn around and head back through the portal in which he came.....
Sure, but one last thing for those of you with thick skulls.

  • Can anyone recommend me a light to veg one or two mothers and several clones at a time? Ps I'm already running 2x 600w so I need to save electricity

Think about that question long and hard, and then ask yourself why suggesting an HPS is a stupid idea?

Cheers guys, it was fun playing.
Off to smoke :joint:

I use the 150 hps for vegging and I'm fully aware that plants use more of the blue spectrum during veg. My plants are fine. If there were a low wattage metal halide like the sun system 150 I would have it. Until then, this light is convenient, fairly priced, and works great.

The best light for vegging is induction hands down. 100w will produce you as much usable PAR lighting as a 300-400w HPS/MH without significant heat. Fact: The majority of people have never used induction, so most people can't even comment. I've used CFL, T5, T8, T12, MH, HPS, Plasma, and Induction for vegetative growth and am most impressed with Induction lighting's ability to keep the plant from stretching despite the distance of the light, as well as creating very tight internode spacing, not that the other types of light can't achieve these results, but my plants seemed least stressed, most vibrant, and healthy when under the induction lighting. It just seems like it gives them ton of what they need, instead of just barely getting them what they need while having to expose them to a ton of light they never wanted.

At a certain point you have to say fuck what everyone else is saying, buy a light (or two different ones at one time) and see how they do side by side the with the same strain. Pick the one that worked the best, then either be content with having one that was "better" than the other, or move on to the next test by purchasing another different type of light and do the test over again. Repeat the process until you've tried all available lighting and have confirmed your own choice. That's what I did and I came up with Induction.

All the people in here saying hps foe veg n mom is no good, it's obviously you never did it.. I've grown plenty plants just under hps growth is fine, and stems are much more thicker than cfls or t5 so please go back thru the portal.. Google it you will see it works fine .!

I would advise a 400w MH or some T5s but if you go on the cheap grab cheap (50 cent) 23w CFLs and some bathroom vanity lights with Y splitters - http://www.lightingdirect.com/maxim-...ection/p860557

Over one of those larger CFLs. If you have the larger CFL high enough to cast over all your plants it'll be too far away to give any of them adequate light, and if you have them close enough to help some of the plants the rest will receive no light at all. I have two of the 250's in factory spec reflectors and they are absolute garbage. Benched them along time ago.

In the UK the 150w kit goes for about £80, so the same price as a higher watt kit. You can pick up a nice T5 for about £60. Check eBay UK guys! haha. thanks for the input.. I'm swaying more towards T5 atm

Are you planning on going right to flower from the veg area or will you veg under the 600w for a while first? If you're going right to flower I'd grab the HID.
