For trimming I'll never use anything but Chikimasa scissors ever again. They're so much sharper, better built and more ergonomic than every other pair of trimming scissors I've used I kick myself for not switching to them earlier. I am going to get a pair of their bigger scissors soon too for pruning large branches.

I bought a pair of Chikimasa on Cav’s recommendation, and they are very nice. I also have the Fiskars micro trimmers, and some freebie knock offs from supply orders. Watch your fingertips!

How is fiskars micro trimmer compare to Chikimasa? they are apparently very different shape.

Do you mean pruning shears for cutting branches or scissors type for trimming buds?

For pruning shears Wilkinson Sword make great shears for trimming bud i like a selection of scissors.

The chikamasa are good for final bud trimming having a fine blades but i find resin tends to stick them after a bit and i need to clean them with alcohol

Hi everyone, any recommandation of a handy pruner that good for cannabis?
There are many types of pruners available. The one I use is Fiskars Pruner. I love it! because it is lightweight and very easy to use. Plus it is a very handy tool. It is sharp enough to make a clean cut every time. Fiskars pruner is affordable and affordable. There is no doubt it is a nice tool to have.

For general defoliation, I'd get a 6 pack of vivosun or equivalent clippers, that way you can designate one clipper for each keeper you have, and have extras for any clones you take in and keep in quarantine. There are a few generic brands that sell 6 or 12 clippers per bag for pretty cheap. The easiest way to prevent the spread of disease through your keeper plants is to designate a clipper for each plant, rather than having to deal with soaking your clippers in bleach, or trying to sterilize them with a torch. Alcohol doesn't prevent the spread of HpLVd

The Chikamasa scissors (for trimming) and clippers (pruning) are both worth it, you'll probably end up with more than one of each eventually. Then you'll start buying other kinds of amazing Japanese scissors because you're shocked at the sheer quality, I recommend Canary brand! If you want to cut cardboard, the Japanese are the masters. Then you'll move on to Japanese kitchen knives, pocket knives, and Japanese razors(feather)....I'm being 100% serious, it's a rabbit hole.

You can get the Chikimasa in curved tip or straight tip. The straight tip is for cutting branches and bucking the buds with heavier stems. The curved tip is pretty much best used for bud trimming. The fluorine coating they put on the blades is supposed to help keep resin from sticking. I've only done a couple plants since I've gotten mine and none have been crazy sticky like a gorilla glue, but it seems to help. I also like the lack of a spring in the grip so that your hand isn't compressing a spring with every cut. It seems to save me wear and tear on my hands during long sessions. They're only about 10 bucks more than the generic Amazon scissors I used for years and the quality of the Amazon stuff was awful.

Looking for a great pair of trimming scissors with a really good return spring- my knuckles are sore from opening the shears up when all sticky- luckily very sticky trichomes.
Thanks

I've had two pairs of these I bought over ten years ago. They still work great. I use them for trimming at harvest, topping, cutting clones, etc... I basically just use one pair for everything. I'm not using a separate pair of trimmers for each plant. The second pair is in a box somewhere. I've never had any disease spread and I also don't think HPLVD is as big of a concern as many have made it out to be as it seems isolated to a few specific nurseries that were selling clones. I don't buy, want, or need any clones from anyone or any outfit so I don't even bother worrying about disease. All my genetics came from reliable overseas breeders so I'm not concerned about any HPLVD. My shit is disease free so one pair of trimmers is all I need to use.

Sorry bro, I've only just seen this post.

Yeah i really like them they're very quick and precise ideal for fine trimming.

I'd like a pair made with quality steel they're so good I'd pay decent money for a quality pair.
