Really need a solution for odor control

Hey everyone, I'm going to be building the small grow box in this guide with a few modifications. http://www.marijuanagrowershq.com/the-100-grow-cabinet/ The problem is that I was planning on using PC fans for ventilation, but someone else on here told me that PC fans can't move air through carbon filters very well, so I don't know what to do. My original plans were to either attach these cut to size carbon filters from home depot to my exhaust fans or make a DIY carbon scrubber out of pencil cups and activated carbon for aquariums. I'm on a budget so I don't have $100-200 to spend on an inline fan and a filter can from a hydro store. If that is my only option to control the odor, will just leaving the carbon scrubber standing up next to my box with an inline fan connected to it eliminate all the odor?

what is your budget? there's an old timers trick for smoking indoors, take a paper towel roll and put 2-3 fabric softener sheets in it. then when you smoke a bowl you exhale through the paper towel roll with the fabric softener sheets in it. maybe you could scale that up.
get ac filters and spray it with febreeze?

My opinion. Odor control is one area you really can not skimp and masking agents are annoying. i also don't know if I would want to grow in plastic.

I built my tent out of PVC and reflextix.

A good inline vent fan can workbut I would still plan on returning a couple xmas presents and find a way to get a decent fan and filter combo. Just my experience, but DIY ones are not as good.

Check amazon and ebay, cheaper than ur local hydro store often.

If ya don't have a $100 bucks to spend. Why are you even attempting this. What u gonna do when u need to buy nutes? Or soil? Or replace a bulb?? I think if you can't afford a proper set up then rethink what your doin.

Theres plenty of strains out there that have little or no smell when growing. Do some research.

Why not get a cheap tent if on a budget. eBay and Amazon filled with deals.
