Im at week 8 of flowering as of tommorrow for both plants the strains are big bud ( in 5 gallon dwc) and ak49 in soil(ffoc) both have had pure blend grow and bloom a little calmag as needed and some fulmax to help with nute absortion. Just bought my first jewelers loupe x10 and took some nice pics with my phone which has 5 times zoom. Question is does she look ready.IMG_2247.jpg IMG_7702.jpg IMG_2247.jpg IMG_7702.jpg IMG_2247.jpg

Some of the fan leaves look browned on the edges possibly from a deficiency? Other than that they look good but still need a few weeks to mature and add density. I would guess another three or four weeks off what I see there. Oh yeah, if you can, take some pics under different lighting. The HPS light adds a yellow glare to the pictures and makes it hard to see detail. Nice Plants:)

Looks great, but most of the pistils are still white. I'd say a few more weeks and she'll be ready

There are lots of red hair on the bottom half the tops are mostly white. And i cant see 3-4 more weeks simply because the breeder calls for seven to nine weeks of flowering im in week 8 now. 3-4 more would put me at 11-12 weeks. Bigbud is around 80 percent indica supposed to finish in 50-65 days

Phenotype variation, breeders/growers preference, and growth inhibitors are all factors to think about. It's possible the breeder prefers early bud. It's also possible that they lied. Or their methods of growing allowed the plant to develop at a faster rate. Trust us. Keep posting pics and we'll freak out for ya when it's time to chop.

One common mistake many growers make is as soon as they see the beginning stages of flowering, they start a countdown of days til harvest. There is normally an "inbetween" transition period from veg to flower. I wait until I can really see some stretch and the bud sites multiply and start to take off before i start the count. Depending on the plant, this time frame can be a few days or a week or two.

.One thing you can do is take more pictures with the Big Bud and the AK 48 labeled so we know what is what. I grew true AK 47 from Serious Seeds a few years back, some phenos took as long as 12 to 13 weeks to finish. Those flowering durations the seed company's give are estimates, not rule of thumb and should be treated as such.

Also all the pics are of the big bud the ak is only partially visible in the one picture that shows the whole big bud plant and to the right is the ak. The ak is signifigantly behind because my cats thought the pot was a good litter box. Needless to say the urine an feces stunted the ak but i flushed vegged for Two extra weeks then flowered but it hasnt been as vigourous or as healthy. The big bud is in a 5 gallon dwc.

I vegged both for 3 months 2 weeks and the bb had tons pistils and preflowers. Switched to 12-12 on august 9 counted first day of flowering on the 16 th. But almost every grow journal ive seen on the same big bud im growing harvest in 7-9 weeks of flowering since its almost pure indica and supposed to be a fast finisher. If i have to go 3 more weeks then not only am i dissapointed with the strain but also with the breeder. I bought both because they are supposed to fast finishing high yielders.

Your pictures are hard to see because of the lighting. Turn all that shit off and your flash on, and take the pics in the dark. It will come out better than under a hps light. Anyway. It's all washed out and yellow so no one can tell what the bud development really looks like. Better lighting, better pictures.

Hoping these pics are a little clearer its hard to tell but theres a random amber trichome here and there. Hoping these pics make it a little cleaerer how long these should go i dont want to miss my peak. Also any opinions on how much it looks like (these are all the bigbud)im really hoping for a half pound which i think should be attainable because i have the 600 w hps an 4 45w cfl bulbs surrounding the plant. So like 780 watts altogether. So in combination with the big bud genetics and it being grown in hydro and the amount of light i would hope for .5 per gram but am expecting .3 per watt which would be 260 grams ik the math is shaky and many variables tie into it. I just need this to go well winter is coming and im laid off so if i was a squirel these would be my hidden nuts for the winter.

It looks like there just starting to turn cloudy, I would wait till trichons are 1/4 to half amber. Usually for me 8 wk strains take 9-10 wks before harvest. Id invest in a table top micro scope, there easier to work with, I could never hold the hand held ones still enough. but with the table top ones u can really see the trichones and also see if u have any mold or bug prablems. Peace

Yeah i live in a fairly large city but finding one of those isnt easy around here trust me i looked everywhere around town. I had to settle with the 10x jewelers loupe. I have a 5x magnifying glass i set behind the loupe which zooms a bit more better than nothing for now.

Much better pics... plant looks nice. Seems too early to me still. I would reassess in a week... not enough hairs have turned yet... calyxes haven't swelled up really either... keep an eye on trichomes too if you're equipped to do so... I try to pull at 5-15% amber personally, it's all a matter of preference and when you think is peak on quantity of cloudy trichomes. ie, you want the majority of the clears to turn... if that takes til 30% amber then so be it... but usually I feel like the clears are mostly turned around 15% or so. (Also, these figures are so approximated on both ends so it's hard to express accurately... god knows what 1%, 2%, 5%, 10% really looks like when you're trying to observe the whole plant while looking through a tiny loupe's worht at a time...)
