Good Luck to ya...

Lemme ask you something.

Do you talk about school because that's all you have to talk about?

I'm curious...

All of my friends who go to school really have nothing to talk about that has originality.
It's always something that they've read or found on the internet, because it's for their class or something.

Don't take offense to it. It's just my observation.

I made a thread about school because it was on my mind, and normally someone would want to optimistically talk about it. If all your friends ever talk about is school, maybe it's because they aren't sitting around doing nothing but smoking dope for the first time in their lives, ever think about that? Don't come on the internet and bad mouth them, ask them yourself. I've met drones in college. And they are very intelligent. One's own originality comes from what they think, not what others hear. :peace:

Whatever...
It's obvious you misunderstood what I was asking.

I understood what you meant and would just say that the thing that occupies your life the most is what you talk of the most. Many of my friends are business people and guess what? Yes, they talk shop. Its not about original thought, its about prevalent thought.

I am 35 now and have several degrees and 3 businesses, not one of my degrees is relevant to any of my businesses!!! Learning is fun.

learning is what you make of it, it is a shame that more people dont have your attitude about school!

i do share the same attitude though and after getting hurt sometime back i decided to return to school (at some point i hope to own my own business)

there are a lot of factors that have to be worked through before i am able to bring that hope into reality, i am not just hoping and moping around. but i really do like that aspire dont hope (& mope would be the only thing i would contribute to that great statement to make it slightly better)

I'm with you too Pnuggle!

Politics, Psychology, and Sociology (sociology is utter bollocks but can't drop it til the end of the year - boo)

As i believe Woo said, whatever you're up to most is gonna be what you talk about most. I personally don't talk about uni as much as i talk about other stuff but that's cause i know it would be pretty freaking boring if i did....i also hardly talk about the subjects i study cause (and i don't mean this to sound patronising at all) most of my friends are total spastics when it comes to politics and/or most other intellectual pursuits.

Who's gonna be living on campus this semester?

I'm at Glasgow University, don't mind at all. Previously studied at Queen Margaret's University in Edinburgh (which is not Edinburgh Uni) but it was a total shambles so i aborted. Kinda vaguely planning to go to proper Edinburgh Uni to do a post grad when I finish, or maybe St Andrews.
