Hey all never thought I'd see the day but soon I'll be able to grow 4 plants legally,Yeah! I'd like suggestions on how to maximize yield.Im working with an 8x8x8 room and will be buying 1000 watt cool tube.Id really like to pull a gram per watt and hit 2 lbs. That would be nice, any suggestions, tips anything that might be helpful would be appreciated.I always grew in a stealth cab under cfl's and I'm really dialed in with that but the most I could ever pull was a z to a z and a half per plant.Need to dial it up a couple of notches.8 oz per plant realistic? thanks.

First grow? 1Kg @ 1KW, ain't goin to happen. But if it does....

I'm a recent convert to CHM, a 315W CMH puts out more light than a 600W HPS, and the ballast and bulb put out less heat than a 400W MH bulb. So instead of a 1KW with a cool tube, I'd go with 3 open CMH fixtures.

Again, first grow - keep it simple.
Go soil for a run or three before trying anything fancy. I recommend a "professional" potting soil.
Get easy to use nutes, there's lots out there.
Lots & lots of air circulation and a big ass charcoal filter ventilation kit.
What going on the walls, paint, Mylar?

Have fun

Is a charcoal filter even needed if the grow is legal and smell is no issue? Does it do anything other than contain the amazing smell of bud? :weed:

Cool neighbors and being legal are not the same thing.

I talked to all my neighbors before I even set my grow up. Now I just ended up supplying most of them!
Neat, but for those of us who don't have neighbours, does a filter do anything other than contain the smell of bud?

It just cleans the air, but that keeps you safe from been targeted by criminals. Which is even more important when you live in the middle of nowhere. Unless your like off grid and don't ever have a single postman, bin man, tradesman ect needing to visit ever.

Those who have will always be targeted by those who have not.

Having your grow/bloom,stinking up the neighbourhood, only draws unwanted attention
That’s the sole purpose of a charcoal filter.

Cool. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on some air 'magic'. The concern is nice but in our legalized country of Canada some of us don't have thugs running around the city or nosey neighbours, so a filter seems like an extra cost if it is only for controlling odors, therefore not needed.

Canadian here as well. I only hire tradesman friends to do work that I can't do myself in or around my house, and pay them with weed lol. it's not weed raiders we have to watch out for in my part of the world, it's people coming into the yard looking for easy items to steal and make a buck from. I have an excellent security system...several cameras and a mean ass dog.

Yeah, around here weed is also sometimes given as a tip for labor work, so I'm thinking the culture here is a little different than in Europe or other places.
